This place has fun and useful things to buy, but after spending 35 minutes in the store looking in detail for what I wanted to buy, since there were quite a few of them, I get to the checkout and they tell me that they do not accept a 100 dollar bill . I had to leave everything because I didn't have a credit card. It seems disrespectful to the client that they don't give advance notice and waste our time. This is not proper customer orientation!

Anytime in San Francisco I pop by Daiso to stock up on japanese bowls, so good in price and if you pick carefully those made in Japan they are a true bargain for less than 2$ also a great place to buy Japanese paper and Japanese design cello tape

Very clean, don't worry about saving your receipt, unfortunately you can't return anything. No wonder why the company's shares are trading in the thousands ...

This was happened to me about a year ago, I entered the store without a mask. All of sudden the female manager came up to me and said ''If you don't ware a mask, you can not enter this store. Please ware a mask''. There was no sign about the mask requirement at the door. I seems like the mask mandate is controlled by her personal opinion. Well, they have less selections compare to other stores, I never went back to this store again since then.

Small store full of random things from housewares to pencils and all inbetween. My teen loves the store. Things are reasonable in price. Good place to find unique gifts and home items.

Fancy Japanese store. Has many imported items from stationery to souvenirs to small household stuff. Most of it is made in china so I suggest to look properly before you buy.

Fun store to explore. It's like a dollar store, but Japanese! Lot's of cute school supplies and decor items, pastel colors, snacks too. Prices are 1.99 onwards but lotss of items between 1.99-5.99. Definitely worth a visit. I end up leaving with something fun and useful each time!

There are many useful affordable items for any situation. Home goods and repairs, snacks and cute japanese souvenirs, this place has everythingyou may need. I came to japantown to stay overnight but I forgot my charger back home without realizing it, the staff was very helpful and I was able to get what I needed for the rest of my stay and a little extra.

This Daiso has THE biggest selection of any other one in the Bay Area (including the one in japantown in sf!) Awesome selection of basically anything you need at cheap prices, plus almost everything is cute. I love it here. The store is huge. I get all of my stationary and laundry stuff here (except for like, detergent. I mean like nets and baskets).
Very friendly owner and staff.
We were looking for good souvenirs in the city and every place we visited.
Honestly, it was overpriced and cheap quality.
I found this place by chance when I use metro.
I'm so happy to find this place.
This place has tons of stuff and way better quality.
You won't disappoint.

This place is big and clean. Four starts because it is far from my house and because it is kind off hard to figure out the prices if it is your first time in there. The store has cool little objects. Plaintive of parking lot and wheelchair access. Recommended it!

Awesome selection and great prices! I just wish that there was better quality control because a lot of products here are really shoddy and cheap, and you kinda need to know what’s good to make the right choices. The price tags don’t hurt though! Everything is very economical here.

Horrible experience! They do not allow return or refund, which is a ridiculous policy. All stores allow return/refund except this store? Come on, they are not a dollar store. Why no return policy? The item I bought cost $4.25, just a simple umbrella bag. I requested to refund as the item selling is different from the display item. I believe I am reasonable for a refund or return as it is tricky to display and sell item in this way. However that Asian worker in the cashier refused to return or refund. I finally talked to the supervisor and able to exchange it. However that Asian guy was extremely rude and yelled at me “ Don’t come back!l”. Does he represent Daiso to say it? Very upset!

Honestly one of my favorite Daiso locations to visit in the Bay Area. This location is pretty well stocked with their merchandise that I always end up walking out with goodies to take home. Also my go to location for cute stationery, gift wrapping supplies, and holiday decor when it's the holiday season

It’s an interesting place to browse but feels like it’s overstuffed. They try to keep it organized but it’s a visual overload. The best bets are probably the office supplies and the snacks, as you don’t readily find these Japanese products elsewhere.

Daiso was a heavenly experience. I was unsure whether or not to go but my good friend convinced me to go in. Inside I found aisles and aisles of treasures and trinkets. The inside of Daiso was bustling with activity and people. We ended up buying a few snacks but everything was worth buying if I could. 10/10 would visit again.

I was here a while ago and thought it was closed because it was no longer on the lower level but it is now on the 2nd level. I love this place with all the unique inexpensive Japanese items (some that you have to figure out it its use from the picture). Everything is $1.99 unless it has another value marked in Yen but there is a conversion chart in the store. 200 Yen costs you $3.50

Daiso is an awesome stationery store that also has some home accessories. They have washi tapes, memo pads, stamps, stickers, etc from the best quality for a low price! They have self checkouts and accept both card and cash. It's a small store and has no restrooms. I hope you check it out!

Daiso always has cute items- from coin pouches to plates, hairties, and even bags. Knocked down a star due to the relatively messy store, items often left in the wrong place and whatnot. But there really is a large selection. Be ready to spend $20 or $30 at Daiso for things you never knew you needed.

I've just been in Metro Variety Shop with my husband, son, and 82 years old mom, who is with wheelchair. It is very easy to reach the souvenir shop, using the metro elevator who drops you right off the door. There are lots of beautiful magnets, plates, cups of eny use and size, key holders, T-shirts, hats and many other items, all in great prices. The owner and his assistant were extremely nice and helpful. They offered us discounts and we got free magnets and gifts. So happy. My mom was amazed. I definitely recommend Metro Variety Shop. This is my souvenir shop at all!

Staff is unhelpful and just chat with each other. The self check out is not as intuitive as other grocery stores.

A Daiso is a Daiso, it has a little bit of everything. It has pet stuff, tote bags , stationery and general home goods.

The owner was very welcoming and nice. He has owned the shop for over 40 years! He is very proud of the shop. He was very helpful and made it a fun experience to get souvenirs in DC. We asked him for recommendations for where to get good Korean food, and he gave us some homemade kimchi his wife made. He was very nice!

If you are ever in DC and looking for souvenirs, this is the best place to buy them! It is located in the McPherson metro station. The owner is the most friendly and generous man we met while here. They have a great variety of gift items from shirts to bobble heads. We were the only ones in the store at the time and we were able to visit with owner who has been in business for 41 years!!! He offered discounts and a free tshirt. 100% recommend this little shop!

Oh my gosh. Best. Store. Ever. Please go here. There are tons of different souvenir items here, from t-shirts to magnets, bobbleheads to ballpoint pens, pins to playing cards. The prices are reasonable as well.

The main highlight for me was meeting the man who runs the shop. He is the nicest guy, and he's been in the business for a very long time. He and the staff are very friendly, and very generous as well. Once you get in there and start talking to him the owner just starts throwing free gifts into your bag. ☺️ Honestly the visit just made my day and restored my faith in humanity.

The store is a bit hard to find, it's in the McPherson Square metro station, but you have to enter/exit through the right place. If you're trying to find it with Google maps, it'll tell you to go outside and walk around the block and come in the other entrance.

Great store, really happy 😊.

Amazing as you would expect. The three items on the right is what I got from daiso. It's crowed and there are loads of people there which means it's good.

The line looks pretty long but it goes quick. The cashiers there were ringing people out pretty quick.

One of the only “big dollar stores” in San Francisco — a rarity. Always go here when I am shopping for a project on a budget.

I love coming here for craft supplies, stationary, garden supplies, and cheap household supplies and decor (picture frames, vases, eatingware, glassware). They also have a good-sized section of faux flowers and greenery, which can be useful for crafts. Their snacks section is near-famous amongst high schoolers and college kids.

Staff are friendly and skilled, able to handle large volumes of people in the store at a time. One thing I appreciate is that they always tell you at register when an item is more than $1.50, in case you didn’t notice when you grabbed it.

Come at “less busy” times during the morning (ca. 10–11 AM) to have an easier shopping experience. Afterschool hours (ca. after 3 PM) can be busy.

Very clean, up to standards with other Daiso chains. Lots of products that are thoughtful and creative for around the home use and at affordable prices. The price guide is clearly marked around the store to help you determine the price of any items. Gets plenty of foot traffic being part of the center of Japantown.

Basically a Japanese "Dollar Store". There are now several locations in NY & NJ. (See the sign).

In South Korea they just had - $1, $2 & $3 items. Here the prices vary but it is just as fun to explore.

I bought the Mrs some face peel "masks". My Son bought his favorite soda (a Milkis copy), a minty carbonated tart yogurt soda... I have never seen so many Calpico flavors, even in Japan!

The mall with many other popular stores is accessible from LGA on the Q72 bus but it takes over 30 minutes to go the -3 miles..

Standard convenience store with a microwave and chilled beverages and dry ramen and some hygiene supplies. Very nice attendant.
Next to Din Ding dumpling house, Daiso in Union City is One of larger stores in the Daiso chain.

The store is well stocked with an assortment of household goods with Japanese branding.

Most items are manufactured in China....to no one's surprise. Probably 90% of the items are $1.75. Some are more expensive.

They have a good selection of cheap but functional kitchenware and other things you might need around the house. The items they sell aren't meant to be durable but at $1.75 one would not expect them to be.
Following Japanese product design philosophy, items are cute and functional. In comparison I wouldn't call similar items at IKEA cute.

The store itself is a little on the dim and drab side due to insufficient lighting. They took over an old drug store and kept the lighting.
It is my first time visiting Daiso this week, and although the choices weren't up to my kawaii meter, I still bought a few items that interested me. What made me give this store 1 star was how robbed I felt when I saw the receipt two days later and realized that I paid $20 for what could have been a $9 purchase. It was a dumb mistake on my part when I paid because I thought the pot mats must be a tad expensive since they are of good quality, and didn't question the cashier during the exchange. As always, check your receipt all the time. For me, I'll never step foot in this store again.

If you've been to one Dollar tree then you've been to them all the only difference now is that they raise the price just like everyone else do to inflation. Highly recommend you come and check it out if you're in the area if you're looking for candy chocolate gum a picture portrait some cleaning supplies you know the usual stuff. And yes they only have one cashier working just like every other Dollar tree.

Location is in rego mall lots traffics and parking lot available for fee and street parking very difficult
time to visit during daytime less crowded but weekend very busy
Service was normal
Clean place
Snacks and drinks fun to try
Recommend for anybody who is interested in unique item everything is Japan theme but I look at all items are made in China
I was like a kid in a candy store shopping here. I especially enjoyed looking at the items in the Kitchen Consumption/Kitchen tool section. This store has a lot more than the Rego Center location. I actually prefer this location better even though it’s a hike to get to. As of the time of this review they currently have two job vacancies.

I am so excited that this store opened here in Rego Center. No bus ride required to visit this location. I attempted to arrive at the store on opening day an half hour before opening. Well to my surprise the line was wrapped around Rego Center. It was too cold and windy to stand on the line. I did look through the window last week and saw a wonderful assortment of items to purchase. The store is bright and well organized. I will attempt a visit to the store again today to try and gain access.

Update..I was number 23 in line and the maximum occupancy is 20. I arrived at 9 am because the information on google says the opening time is 9 am. So I waited in the line. The store is very interesting. There is a conversion price list. So anything without a price is $1.99. I was intrigued by the selection of items. I enjoyed my shopping trip and was rewarded with a shopping bag filled with snacks because I spent over $30. You should bring your own bag.

Update.... They do not accept the American Express Card

I've been so excited to go to Daiso, Flushing! The Mall is only a few blocks from the train station. This store has a great variety of items, from stationary to Food & Drinks! Prices ranging from $2-$6. You should definitely walk through each aisle to really get a good look at all that Daiso has to offer! If your a small business there's some items that Daiso offers that could help! Just a tip, if you visit at different times of the month you could possibly find more of a selection when they restock!! I'll definitely go back! Nice Staff, beautiful mall nice area.

And the Daiso invasion has arrived in the East Coast with the first location opening in Sky View Mall in Flushing... Do you like cheap dollar store items? Do you like stuff from Japan? Your dream has been granted. Daiso's marketing strategy is selling cheap stuff from Japan at $1.99 and up. Having been to many locations in Southern California, this store is extremely cramped, but all the sections are present. The grand opening literally caused the second floor of the mall to shut down due to the massive crowd it drew. Even 2 days after the grand opening, there is still a line to get into the store. Hopefully as more branches open up in the East Coast, this particular store will become more accessible. It's pretty incredible that in spite of the massive crowd, the store is still relatively well stocked.

Interesting five and dime products from Japan, the most mysterious one had been the plastic case to protect a banana as you bring it to work for lunch. Think of a highly rugged cell phone case.. except it's shaped like a banana. Has vent holes too.

Always find good stuff here. Lots of snacks, office supplies, kitchen utensils. Anything you can think of is probably here. Everything is $1.50 unless it has a sticker with a different price on it. I love Daiso!

Its kind of mini store . All items you get for less price. Its not that good quality but it can survive for ine or two times. You get the ping pong paddle and balls . Books garden stuff kitchen glass items bathroom stuff and decorations items and party items. You can find the small size slippers. The store is under renovation. So some portion of the store is empty. They have very good collection of the glass items. They also have the trash bags , mapping sticks and almost all house hold items. You also get some snacks and noodles and chips . The store is very easy to identify and the crowd flowing is very good.

Nice cheap Japanese goods. Many items to choose from. Prices starting at $1.50. Came in to purchase a couple of items, came out with multiple items. Walk around all the aisles and you will end up with more items. Many items just on impulse buy. Cons - no return, no exchange.

The employees here are so kind! We plan on coming back next time we're in the area. The fruit looked delicious and there was a large selection to choose from.

There's a lot of great selection of items here that are made from Japan. Price is also decent on most items. Credit Card or Debit transactions are a minimum of $10 and anything below $10 is cash only.
