We got Married at this Church September 25, 1976.
Saturday or Sunday Mass is available at Bloor West and Bathurst.
Old and grand church. English and Italian speaking services.
Mass daily.
Mass daily.
I decided to visit the church on a weekday. It was closed. I tried all the doors. All locked. A priest in the garden shouted at me in an unfriendly manner: "What are you doing?"
What I was supposed to reply? What does an old lady want to do in a church? Rob the church? Paint a graffiti on the wall? Take a nap?
The church building might be closed for many reasons, including vandalism, but the priest should make anyone feel welcome in the house of God, even if it is just in the church outdoor grounds. The church is not the priest’s property.
What if I were someone who was suffering, who needed some help? Did he ask? Did he care why I wanted to pray? He just went on a rant about the reason why the church was locked.
The exchange was made terribly upset and I am still not over from the shock of being treated that way.
This is not how a person should be treated by anyone, especially by a man in frock.

I called this church as a person of the Catholic faith to see if I can get some guidance in an area that is affecting my life greatly I called the total of 2 times but I did not leave a message. The second time when I called intending to leave a message by the way the pastor answered the phone and as I started to speak he abruptly interrupted me and told me that he was on the other line with somebody if that I could hold on because I kept calling and I wouldn't leave a message then as I tried to say I only called twice he abruptly went on to the other line to continue to talk to the other person when he came back on to the phone which wasn't long he then said to me okay I figured I better talk to you right away because you keep on calling and don't leave a message I felt like I was a huge inconvenience and it strengthen my disappointment in the Catholic faith I'm so sorry to say he sounded annoyed to me which discouraged me from seeking guidance from this church. The love of man is definitely growing colder and colder.
I don't have a special connection to this Church. The architecture is very nice. They ring bells on the hour. It's a bright, shining light in an otherwise rough area.
Daily Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and also Mass in the side chapel, just in front of the Bathurst Stn exit! Peaceful seating area quiet reading too. A true oasis in the heart of the "jungle". Check it out.
