Fabulous Easter service! Ken’s sermon was clear and encouraging. The music was great and Christ focused. So wonderful to see so many beautiful children too!
There is only 1 other church where I have felt the peace I felt at Placita Olvera church and that was here at Imaculated Heart of Mary Church.
Very friendly and open church. The pastor is just an incredible guy and light in this world. Would recommend this church to anyone in the LA area. If you grew up in a fundi household and are trying to set things straight in your own beliefs I’d highly recommend this church as a safe space.
A church that is theologically sound and active in the local community. There is a wide range of people from different backgrounds here, pursuing Jesus and God's Kingdom together.
Been coming here for years, always so welcoming :)

I love the genuine warmth and care of Venice Church. The service is so relatable and the sermons authentic to the heart
I have been a faithful parishioner for the last ten years. In the past couple of months, the quality of the church has started to decline noticeably. Ida from the hospitality staff is rude to parishioners in the communion line when you let others go before you. The church decided to save on its heating bill by turning off the heat and keeping the doors open during mass at night when temperatures drop to 58 degrees and below. Everyone comes to mass in long wool coats with scarves, hats, and gloves, quite unusual for Southern California attire. A good number of the congregation consists of seniors and children who are more susceptible to pneumonia, flu, colds, and other illnesses; not everyone can afford a flu or pneumonia shot, and some do not own a coat. While fighting the return of COVID-19, they invite it to return with such negligent and reckless practices. Father Roberto Rueda is the Priest/Parish Administrator and does not find anything wrong with rude hospitality staff or putting people at risk for possible health issues. He has been made aware of these concerns and treats you like you are not educated or intelligent, and it is a complete fabrication of your mind. The associate priest, Father Florentino Victorino, has expressed an interest in our concerns but seems reluctant to help. I do not know if this is out of fear or not knowing what to do. I hope this review reaches them and prompts them to make the necessary changes before they lose more parishioners due to bad behavior and rude conduct.

What an amazing place ! So friendly , childcare is amazing , the pastor is incredible . Im engaged for the complete hour of service on the edge of my seat . I leave wanting more and that doesn't happen with every church I have been . Oh and the music , INCREDIBLE! Overall , quite possible best church I have ever been to.
Thank you Pastor Ken. A timely message of Saul that resonated with me. Same zeal persecuting God's people he uses to do God's work and everyone is redeemable irrespective, including me whose name means a sinner, a fogiven sinner. Thank you.

Glad to meet Clint, Stephanie and Terry. Beautiful souls of God. If we don't meet again this side of eternity, see you in heaven. Worshipping the King of kings together.

Special thanks to Courtney and Jacob who heard of my story of looking for a church and travelling 40 plus miles to yours and giving me a lift back to Four Points Sheraton LAX via The Point for some Tacos. May the Lord watch and guide them. All the days of their lives. A couple loved by the maker and loves Him back.

When I saw your congregation, I know there is hope for LA and USA. For one Elijah, God had 7k others. So the multiple from your few applies. You are the reason why God is sparing LA.

God be with you and the brethren of Christ Church. Njihia, Kenya - Africa.

This church has been here since I’ve lived in Mar Vista for over 30 years. They have kindly allowed Steve with Petramale Pizza to have a pop-up of the world’s best pizza every FRIDAY. This is the best best best pizza! This is from me studying abroad in Italy and traveling around the world. There’s nothing like it! Please support your local community and try some of his pizza on Fridays.

If you are like so many other people in the Venice area, either your church attendance and relationship with God has slowed over the past couple years, or you have wondered about this Higher Power and are curious to understand Christianity better.

If you are either curious or wanting to simply get back to church, Venice Church is the place.

Amazing pastor and staff that is personable, caring and approachable. (I got coffee with two people from Venice Church in the first two weeks I went)

Amazing music and worship. The band is so good, and the three sermons that I have been to personally resonated with me.

Diverse congregation. Black, White, Brown, Young, Old, Single, Married. I feel like it’s a real community, like it represents LA.

What are you waiting for? Just come once. First step is the most important.

I have been a member of the Eastlake community for several years. I recently moved to Long Beach from San Diego and could not find a place where I belonged. I remembered that Eastlake had a church in Venice. I walked in and knew I was home. The people are warm and welcoming.
There’s always something going on at the church or in the community if you are hungry for a way to serve and give back.

Rooted in faith and the Bible, the messages are powerful and relevant to where we are today. The worship team gets us going and then Pastor Mark makes us laugh, cry, look up, and look deep to help us find ourselves and our path.

It’s a New Year. If you found yourself in need of something during the holidays and you can’t put your finger on it, maybe stop by and give us a visit. Maybe Venice Church can help you find what you need

It’s worth a visit! We take faith seriously, but we have a lot of fun doing it.
The choir is decent but it depends on which community is using the church when you go, so there is an element of inconsistency. As for the services themselves, they're not terrible, but they're not something one would commute from an hour away unless it was more of a social obligation, and the bigger draw is the community (majority Filipino and Hispanic) and the school it funds.

On various festival days, they'll celebrate with food stands, activities, etc.
I have grown tremendously as a Christian even in less than a year of attending Christ Church. Our pastors give faithful, nuanced, and practical deep dives into scripture, and our congregation is strong and diverse -- embracing all Christians (and even non-Christians) and are sincerely supportive and curious about each of its members and their individual journeys.
A warm and welcoming, Biblically sound, neighborhood church that consists of a small but solid congregation of diverse individuals, of all ages and walks of life, who desire to grow together and serve the community as compelled by the transformative knowledge of the love and salvation of Jesus Christ. The music is a mix of modern worship songs and timeless hymns. The atmosphere is come-as-you-are, with some more traditional practices such as weekly liturgical readings. The sermons are Biblically based and inspired, informative, and taught with practical relevance concerning Christian life and perspective within modern day culture. The coffee and donuts are great, too!
A cozy and easy-going church with a great community of people of all ages and fields in the heart of Atwater Village. It has a dedicated parking space for attendees although there are plenty of street parking available as well. Service begins at 10:30 on Sundays but try to get there a bit earlier for the amazing breakfast coffee and donuts!
My wife and I have been attending for almost a year now and we love this church. The people are friendly, the staff is very caring, and the total experience (sermons, prayer meetings, mid-week Bible studies) are very edifying to us. A great little faithful church with a welcoming posture towards visitors - I would highly encourage anyone to visit.
Made to feel unaccepted at a church I was an active member of every sunday including vacation bible school bible study and potlucks. I was baptized there at the age of 12. Never heard of any church to turn anyone away especially children. New people there so new rules I guess.
A fantastic church and lovely welcoming community. When I arrived I was met with a vibrant and diverse group of people. Everyone made a real effort to make me feel at home even when it was my first time there. And they succeeded!

Services include great, biblically sound, teaching that is applicable to daily life, well thought out songs and prayers, and a talented worship team.

I can’t recommended checking out this church enough!
My friends needed help so I was one who was able to drive them there. When we arrived, there were a lot of Spanish-speaking people who don't speak English. It was very hard to explain what we need because most of visitors don't speak English, and of course they don't speak Ukrainian or Russian. In half-hour we found one worker who helped my friends to submit request for help. My friends got help, even if that was small amount and little bit late. But anyway thanks for helping my friends! Also, my personal experience is: both visitors and workers there are friendly, restroom is clean enough and parking nearby is spacious.
Simbang gabi is very organized. Invited prists gave nice and jolly homilies. Usually starts at 5AM but ends way beyond 6am. They also have free traditional Filipino breakfast meals after the mass. Church volunteers are friendly and helpful. Almost done. One more night before Christmas. Heating was not well distributed but you need to find a good seat next to the vents if you want warmer air since for the past few mornings weather readings were cold. Very good service all in all.

Love this church! And so do my kids! It takes a lot for my kids to like a church since they are very comfortable with our current one in Chino Hills, Inland Hills Church. I was looking for a church In Venice where my daughter lives with her father. This one feels a little similar to the current one we attend. First time we went, it was so nice and laidback. Everybody was friendly and greeted us at the door with all smiles. I knew it was the right church because it felt like ours. My little one liked her classroom, no complaints. The Pastor was lively and full of energy. I really enjoyed the Mother’s Day message today and especially the last song where he recognized all the moms. Plus, I received a Rose and the end of service. They even had my little one Make a picture frame with her picture in it to give to me for Mother’s Day, it was really touching. I will continue to visit this church while I visit my older daughter. Every service has a great message. Don’t let One bad review Keep you from visiting, you have to visit yourself.

Beautiful community of Jesus loving people.

There is such an emphasis on community and doing life with one another. I feel truly known and loved here. Pastor Devin and his family are so welcoming and they have modeled humility, love, and kindness to the body. Being part of a church plant is definitely an adventure, and really encourages everyone to be involved and makes the place feel like home.
A church that truly loves Jesus and one another! It has been incredible seeing this community committed to living life with and serving one another and the city. Great worship, biblically sound teaching from Pastor Devin, and tasty coffee/lunch is always a plus!

TCLA is a wonderful church with a family-feel that seeks the well-being of Westwood/ West LA by preaching and living out the Gospel. A warm atmosphere allows for first time visitors to check it out and meet friendly people.
Its been really great to plug in here in the past 5 months after moving to LA. The lead pastor, Devin, is caring and humble and genuinely wants to connect with everyone who walks in the door. The kids ministry volunteers are sweet and kind to my kids, too, which is huge. Would recommend coming!

Solid church. Loves Jesus and preaches the Bible. Plus free lunch every Sunday is a win.
I attended this church for 6 months while living in LA for school. A welcoming, down-to-earth community that made me feel right at home. Unique, especially in the Hollywood area!
This is the first church I really got plugged into since moving away from home for college. I'm now a part of this church on a level that I didn't expect from any church.

I feel like the community at this church are like family. I love that we always have free lunch on Sundays because it lets me hang out with such great people and talk about anything from God to random memes.

I think that it is 100% worth your time!

Edited to update review:

It's been over 5 years since I wrote my last review and I am deeply grateful for all of the experiences I have had with this church family. The people and rhythms have changed a lot over the years, but I think that is to be expected in a church that is pursuing God in such a transient city. Committing to be a part of this community has been a joy. They draw me deeper into relationship with God and tangibly reflect the love that he has for me.

All that to say, you should definitely check it out and see if it is the community that God wants you to meet you in. Worst case scenario, we still provide free lunches every Sunday! (which is actually extra awesome because it allows us to get to know you!)

Love being a part of this family! Great community (sent out from Reality LA in 2017) loves Jesus and faithful preaching from the Word. Pastor Devin is a great guy and very friendly/hospitable!
Nice church. Friendly staff. Clean restrooms. They have separate masses for Asians and Mexicans. The masses for Mexicans is done in Spanish. Gets awful cold in winter so dress warm.
Praise the Lord. Amen. A beautiful place, indeed.

Not your regular church experience. Very modernized with multimedia and band music. When I arrived, I was thinking this was going to be Baptist style, which it had a small hint of. I was thinking of leaving but stayed and was glad I did. The pastor brought me to tears multiple times. I'll definitely be back. That being said understand this is not a typical church...no readings and no Eucharist. Very informal format.
A welcoming and warm church that is doctrinally sound--a rare find in California.
Basically The Way this day on Immaculate heart of Mary church . I don't see any good to show other people and special for those kids effect on this. What I'm try to say is those kids work hard performance every event . Also not just like that . We know that all those money end up on church / school. I notice also this days church are allowed people go to casino ? Just for sponsor? Also I so many comment people about special kids who need for first communion and some people I read some comment that , this church rejected them. I feel so bad about there feeling. If You notice mostly in church I didn't see AC open and it's 90%+ in side the church . It's very hot in side the church yesterday Saturday mass and I so people using those paper just to make cool down the temperature / Waves the paper . Also You notice some people in Immaculate heart of Mary church , are moved to other church and also some priest are rude after the mass. Like father Thai , before he was left on this church. No one blessing on him . My mom was notice that and she try to bless on father Thai and guess what he's saying something about dress code . seriously what a shame. We know that 1hr Half mostly the mass and You can see people there face are mad. Due to #1 Even the AC it's on or not it's not even enough for cold temperatures. Back then the AC was over Heat that was during time of Father Rodel . Due to can't Handel full power .Also If You Remmber that day some one try to burn at the back of the church and I was in the church that time and people was panicking and I help those people in will chair just to go out for safety. People going crazy call 911 . This church still not leading for mistakes. I been on this church for 17 years and attitude, rumor I so on this church. Again I feel so bad those people been reject, and left on this church . but You see , I'm try to come down but I can't take any more this kind problem and comment people feeling bad about this church. Notice also this church keep changing priest 😑. Also one man ask me about marriage if free? And why have to pay? And they end up Married in the lawyer . This guys from Philippines 🇵🇭 . But I'm Filipino Also. Remmber I won't blame this church. but curse/karma will come back 👁For You. Don't used god name Just to make you powerful priest. You Don't No What's The Future on this world 🌎 . New Earth 🌏Will be Mars for other people 1M that's they said to leave there.
