Gurudwara Chheharta Sahib, 7 km west of Amritsar (31° 38'N, 74° 52'E), is named after a well that Guru Arjan (1563-1606) had sunk. The well was so wide, and the water supply so abundant, that six Persian wheels installed around the interior of its circufrence could operate simultaneously. Hence its name Chheharta, lit. having six (chhe) Persian wheels (hart or harta).

The well has now been covered, but its water is still pumped to feed the main tank of the Gurdwara. Now developed as an industrial township, Chheharta falls within the revenue limits of Vadali Guru, a village one km to the south, where Guru Arjan stayed during 1594-97

Now developed as an industrial township, Chheharta falls within the revenue limits ofVadali Guru, a village one km to the south, where Guru Arjan had stayed during 1594-97.The Gurdwara complex, set on a 6acre walled compound, includes a divan hall, with a square sanctum in the middle enclosed by a brass palisade. Above the sanctum is a square room with a lotus dome topped by a goldplated pinnacle. Two Nishan Sahibs, Sikh flags, atop 25metre tall flagposts, one on either side, stand in front of the hall.

The Gurdwara is managed by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee through a local committee, which also controls other historical shrines ofVadali Guru. Congregations held on the fifth day of the light half of every lunar month attract large gatherings. The largestattended is the fair held on this day in the month of Magh (JanuaryFebruary) which marks the popular Basant Parichami festival.

Chheharta Sahib is a town located 7 km [1] west of Amritsar city of Punjab in India, on the Grand Trunk Road leading to the Pakistan border. The town derives its name from the Gurudwara Chheharta Sahib, established by the fifth Sikh Guru Guru Arjan Dev ji

Small place for locals
A historical gurdwara sahib located in beautiful Colony Holy City.
If you want the most important history on Earth, then this is the place where the first battle between the Sikhs under the leadership of the Sixth Guru, Guru Hargobind and the Islamic Mughal Empire took place 393 years ago, where the Mughal army was defeated !

Peaceful environment. Another best place to observe the spiritual powers. History of this pilgrims very heart touching. And also don't worry about food when you are in GURUDWARA "ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ"
Huge parking, near Old markets, golden temple. If someone wants to visit Golden Temple and also wants to do some Traditional Punjabi Shopping then come to killa Lohgarh side.

Gurudwara Qila Lohgarh Sahib , one and a half kilometre southwest of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, marks the site of the fort of that name constructed by Guru Gobind Singh to pro-tect the riverside flank. It was here that Bhai Bachittar Singh faced and turned back a drunken elephant which the hill chiefs, dur-ing their siege of Anandpur in 1700, had sent to batter down the gate of this fort. The present building, octagonal in shape and three-storeyed high with a dome on top, was constructed during the late 1980's.
Veey beautiful place. Langar very delicious.
This local area Gurudwara sahib to perform their daily religious activities. This is not historic Gurudwara sahib.

Gurdwara Lohgarh Sahib is situated in the village Dina, 15 km south of Nihal Singh Wala, in the Moga district of Punjab .It is on Barnala Nihal Singh Wala road, which is a single metal road and is in good condition. It is 6 km from Salatwatpura, 12 km from Nihal Singh wala and 13km from Bhadaur.

Guru Gobind Singh Ji, after evacuating Anandpur Sahib in December 1705 A.D, came here and stayed for a few days. Guruji was served with devotion by Chaudhari Shamir and Lakhmir, grandsons of the local chief Rai Jodh who fought on the side of Guru Hargobind Ji in the battle of Mehraj in December 1634 A.D. Guruji enlisted several Sikh warriors of the Brar clan .It was at this very place that Guruji wrote the famous letter in Persian language “Zafarnama” to Emperor Aurangzeb. The place mentioned in Zafarnama is however, Kangar, 2 km south of Dina. The commemorative shrine established here is named Gurdwara Lohgarh Sahib. He dispatched Zafarnama lit. Letter of Victory through Bhai Daya Singh Ji and Bhai Dharam Singh Ji, two of the five Panj Piaras to Emperor Aurangzeb who had shifted from north to the Deccan since 1681 to establish his new capital. Besides the daily services and observances of the major Sikh anniversaries, a religious fair is held every year on the occasion of Maghi, which corresponds with dates 13th to 14th of January. In addition Prakash Divas of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and Guru Gobind Singh Ji are celebrated with enthusiasm. Jor mela along with Nagar Kirtan are also organized in a big way over here
It is in the memory of one of the battle of Sixth Guru Hargobind Sahib ji. Area name after this Gurdwara. Day time congested area. It takes time to reach by car than two wheeler. Building is large and wide contain some historical things. Yearly Gurpurab celebrated here.

A historic holy place for Sikhs. We went on a Sunday and it was overcrowded with no crowd management in place. The car parking is free but ill-managed.
