This place is cool. I personally think the one in Portland is better, it's a bit bigger so they have more stuff. Also took a star off because it was a bit overpriced. I don't mind paying more at a brick and mortar, but prices were still a little high. It was packed when I was there, but I think that's a testament to how cool the place is. If you go in the middle of a weekday, you'll probably have the place to yourself.

I popped in while grocery shopping on a whim and was pleasantly surprised with the variety and authenticity of the products they have. There are magazines and books from Japan as well as manga in both English and Japanese. They also have a solid selection of stationary including Traveler's Notebooks and Midori MD notebooks. Definitely worth visiting on its own or while you're at Uwajimaya.
I went to this location because it has a designated parking lot as opposed to the others, and although it was busy on a Sunday afternoon, I imagine it would be easy to park during the week. I was disappointed there wasn't more seating for reading, as I needed back support and the various benches don't provide that. Still love a bookstore though :) they have a great selection and it's easy to find what you're looking for.
Smaller version of the flagship store in downtown Portland. Good parking here, and no traffic or other issues to deal with. The store has a good selection of both new and used books. Lots of employees around, however none seemed very inclined to help find products. They also had a great selection of gift type products. The store was very clean, but restroom was pretty nasty.
Kinokuniya has a great selection of notebooks and pens. They also have a lot of pen refills for brands including Uni-Ball and Zebra so your new cute pen can last you a long time!
This place has lots of books. Like, a lot of books. Nothing really strange about the Powell's Books. The weird part is the mall it is attached to. It has a bunch of empty stores in it. Strangely dead, given how busy all the other near by stores are. Also, I just discovered the þ key on the keyboard. Not sure how to pronounce a þ or what words use it. Probably another reason to go back to Powell's and find a book on non-standard letters.
Easy to get to, plenty of parking worth a fair selection of books! It's by far more convenient to sneak in here and see if they have what I need versus deal with parking and people at their other locations! Very friendly staff at this location with plenty of food options nearby too! I love Powell's!
Great collection of books. Great customer service.
Bonus: close to a lot of other stores too!!
Was there for the B. Dylan Hollis book signing. There were a lot of people there but they kept everything moving nicely. It was a little too warm.

This location had tons more anime and manga than other locations. Clean and well organized, it's a great part of shopping at Uwajimaya
Powell's Books is always a delightful experience. This visit was for a book signing event. All staff encountered were helpful, polite, and very organized regarding all aspects of this event.
Excellent selection of books! There are more books than toys in the children’s section, and the toys aren’t $$$, more like $$. The staff is friendly and helpful, the aisles have plenty of room, and it is air conditioned. All together it was a very pleasant experience. Plenty of Cozy Mystery books for me too!

This rating comes from my teens. They're both into anime and manga. The store is smaller than the Seattle store, but is still jam-packed with all kinds of interesting stuff and lots of manga. Both my kids found multiple books that they couldn't find elsewhere. They tell me it's a great selection.
They have toys, stationery, books, comics, pens, and manga, enamel pins, art books, journals, anime dvd movies! I love the manga here it’s very nice and kawaii~! Love the store, has a nice variety to choose from.

This was a fun store to shop. Went to find a gift for my cousin who lovessssss anime. We found great books, posters and things to draw with. I spent alot of time in here cause there was alot to look at. The staff was super nice helping me find all the books he wanted.
Great gift shop to look through for sure.
Five stars.
I've never purchased anything here but I appreciate the fact that Kinokuniya is still around in an age when book stores are having a difficult time staying in business. I've never bought anything but my wife buys books and magazines, my daughter buys their pens and stationary, and my parents are big book buyers.

I can't really say what they have on hand here because I can't read Japanese but there is a large area for books, a smaller area for magazines, another area for pens, stationary, odds/ends, and another section dedicated to anime and anime-related products.

The staff is always friendly and helpful, the store is always clean and well organized, and they're always seems to be something for everybody. Please don't go anywhere - we always stop by this location when we're in Oregon and same for the one in Downtown L.A. when we're in California!
