Reviews

A great mission and a important cause, but they have only 3-stars on Charity Navigator and they do run a very aggressive cars salesperson operation. They will call anytime, including 8pm at night, asking for $1,000 and will keep you on the phone by going (500, 250, 100, etc.) in their ask.

Excellent mission, but as a company CWA runs as a shady used car salesman operation. They target rich neighborhoods for donations and mandates aggressive sales tactics of employees and "field (literally someone's backyard) managers". Their turnover rate is very high due to the fact they do not tell people you can be terminated on the spot within days or weeks of on-boarding if you are unable to reach varying target goals. After canvassing for an hour in the rain and watching my "trainer" have doors slammed in her face repeatedly, I decided to pack my bags and leave the site. That's when she told me I could either wait 3 hrs for the rest of the fielders (yes sometimes your canvassing until 10pm and don't go home until 11-midnight) or I could figure out how to head back to the office on my own dime. My phone was on 1% and there wasn't any close-by gas stations or pay phones to call a cab. She didn't apologize or even have the courtesy to let me use her phone for a cab service. She brushed me off and just kept on canvassing!
Don't do it to yourself unless you're a high school student working for the first time. Passive aggressive management, shady business tactics, and of course.. sweaty, inclement door to door BS
