Mahakaleshwar Temple is one of the famous temples in Udaipur. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and its 900 year old temple. According to saints Lord Shiva devotee Guru Gorakhnath worshipped at this religious site. The main shrine of the temple has Shivlinga in beautiful black stone.

Visiting the Mahakaleshwar Temple is a delightful experience. Nestled near Fateh Sagar Lake, the temple offers a breathtaking view of the Aravali Hills, providing a serene and picturesque backdrop. The temple grounds boast a beautiful garden, perfect for a leisurely stroll or a peaceful moment of reflection.

Currently, the temple is undergoing expansion, with construction work in progress to enhance its facilities. The entire complex spans around 3.5 acres, offering ample space for visitors to explore. Additionally, the temple houses a Gaushala, adding to the traditional and spiritual ambiance of the place.

The temple is an excellent spot for a morning walk, combining the tranquility of nature with spiritual energy. One of the highlights of the Mahakaleshwar Temple is the grand celebration of Mahashivratri. Every year, the festival is observed with great enthusiasm and devotion, attracting many devotees and visitors.

The Mahakaleshwar Temple is a must-visit for its scenic beauty, spiritual atmosphere, and the rich cultural experience it offers.
I am not religious, but suddenly I believe puja, so I wanted to visit Shiv Temple, and today I have visited it. It feels peaceful in my soul.

Mahakaleshwar Temple is one of the famous temples in Udaipur. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva ( as known as Mahakaal) . According to saints Lord Shiva devotee Guru Gorakhnath worshipped at this religious site. The main shrine of the temple has Shivlinga in beautiful black stone. Prayers are done daily at the temple. The temple is good place to find peace and there is big garden as well. You can see the beautiful Fateh Sagar Lake from the temple.
Just behind fateh sagar Lake, the temple is on a big premise.

Located right on Fateh Sagar Lake, it is built into a hillside and a good site for picnics with kids. There is a nominal entry fee. The views from the top and from the views points is not great due to vegetation and it can get uncomfortably hot during the daytime. It appears to be under renovation and there's construction activity. Not a tourist spot.

The Rajiv Gandhi Garden in Udaipur is a beautiful public park known for its lush greenery, serene atmosphere, and scenic views. It's a popular spot among locals and tourists alike for leisurely strolls, picnics, and enjoying the tranquility amidst nature. Rajiv Gandhi Garden is one of the big gardens in Udaipur and situated near Fateh Sagar Lake. A statue of Late Rajiv Gandhi is there. Families with children can enjoy the park. Washrooms are not maintained well and it could have been a better place if properly kept.

This is a beautiful place to spend your evening in Udaipur. Place is full of pigeons. You will find a lot of pre-wedding shoot happening all the time. Bagore haveli is adjacent to it. Nice view of lake pichola.
There are many places in udaipur to visit but I liked this place most, it has statues of maharna Pratap and other warriors, a battle tank, fort miniature models , some weapons used by maharna pratap and many more

A wonderful place to feel the old Udaipur vibe. In terms of visuals it is better to visit during sunset but sunrise time has its own charm also. There is no fee to enter the ghat and it offers good opportunity to photographers. Obviously this place is always crowded, even early morning I encountered a number of pre-wedding photography groups. Even then it is possible to find certain spots to enjoy this timeless place and even more surprisingly to take a few photos without too many people in it.

I think that you can skip visiting this place completely. First of all, you will see it the most when you take a boat ride at the lake Pichola directly from that boat. Secondly, if you stop by at the place, the place is too small for any pictures, it just doesn't look good. On the top of that, you will instantly get a group of beggars targeting you as you take any step. The beggars are just waiting for the tourists there, talking between each other, or just sitting on the ground, until you show up. Also those locals that act friendly at the beginning and that they just want to talk, in the end, they will be offering you something.
No ticket needed to visit this place.

the iconie 'I❤️udaipur' sign is here. An open gym and a small almost dry park too.
Maharana Pratap fought in several significant battles during his reign. One of the most notable battles was the Battle of Haldighati in 1576, where he faced off against the Mughal forces led by Akbar's general, Man Singh. Another significant battle was the Battle of Dewair in 1582, where Maharana Pratap achieved a decisive victory against the Mughals. These battles showcased his bravery and determination in defending his kingdom. 🛡️💥
Maharana Pratap Smarak and Museum offer a compelling journey into the valiant history of Maharana Pratap. The museum meticulously showcases artifacts and exhibits that vividly depict the heroic life of this legendary ruler. It provides an enriching experience for history enthusiasts, offering insights into the Rajputana era. The smarak stands as a tribute to Maharana Pratap's indomitable spirit, and the museum complements this narrative with a well-curated collection. Visiting this site is not just a tour but a step back in time, immersing visitors in the legacy of one of Rajasthan's most revered figures.

Awesome heritage place built years ago, still well maintained. Example of Indian engineering years ago, excellent example of fluid and acoustic and fountain engineering. Fountains are operated without electricity. Fountains Water dropped on floor created sounds like natural rainfall.
Maharana Pratap is a legend who should be memorized by all. It is a significant statue of Maharana Pratap and his horse Chetak. Haldi ghati battle is engraved there.
Heritage dance show is being arranged there.
A museum and miniatures depicts the geography of Maharana's time.
Some gift shops and ready to wear dresses shops are also available there.
A well maintained garden from centuries back. Good place to relax. You can cover it in less than half an hour if you're in a hurry.

PS: the magical fountain that is said to be switching on and off by clapping is actually a marketing trick. As a guide explains this to the visitors, an employee there (visible in one of the videos) waits for them to clap so that he can push and pull a controlling lever!

Excellent place in morning time or night too. The route till the ghat is little narrow. Walking distance from the City Palace. Morning time you can have excellent pictures clicked with beautiful background of Resturants near the lake. At night everything will be lighted up and it will be more peaceful at that time if not going on weekends.
Well maintained and good spot to visit solo or with family/ friends. Very important to the crucial role of individuals in history including the structures made.

PS: The view from the top will make you feel great and also make you wonder on the historical event that unfolded.

Very nice and memorable place spent more than hour and it's was nice. Needs a bit more effort on maintenance. It is actually what you expect from a place surrounded by nature.
PS: Would recommend for quiet time for oneself and also a spot to enjoy family time amid the nature's voice.
A very well decorated garden with flowers trees and fountains made for the Princess.
Parking may be difficult to find outside. Entry ticket at the gate at a minor price.
Toilet outside the entry gate.
Take an official guide at a nominal price of around 200 INR to learn the history and architecture.

You will be enchanted by the water architecture of the multiple fountains, sounds of rain, and the lush green garden.
Spend a couple of hours in the afternoon before heading to fatehsagar lake for the sunset.

This park is really built in a very unique manner. But visit it with your full energy, because there are so many stairs there. If you have elderly people with you it will be difficult for them to explore the entire park. Although it is a must visit place.

My View: This place is about gardens and fountains. when you are in Rajasthan, you might end up seeing too many forts and it might become monotonous and this place will help you to get out of that especially when you visit in the evening.

I visited this place in Dec'23, As the guide explains the history and takes you through lush green gardens, fountains, small mahals we (especially ladies as it was built for maharani) really enjoyed it and it was very pleasing in the evening time.

Parking might be an issue during busy days as we have to park it on the road, you can enjoy streetfood outside. There is a museum near to this place, visit if you do have some time.

Entry fee is applicable and toilets are available.
If you've visited city Palace you can safely skip this. Located opp Fateh Sagar Lake, it does nothing much other than a museum , a sorry looking zipline and a statue. Get tickets for the electric cart as it is a steep climb.

This place was right across our Hotel ie Hotel Lake Pichola and I thought there’s no need it to visit it personally since the view was clear from our hotel. However, I ended up visiting this place for some reason and trust me I do not regret it. Watching birds flying away and then coming back to their place with water flower beside you along with cool breeze under open sky was something to experience. We did feed the birds as well and trust me my kids thouroughly enjoyed it. I’m glad we went.

Must visit !
Beautiful park under construction as of now. This is a must-visit park in Udaipur.

Showpieces of animals are placed inside the park.

The park is tidy and well maintained.

Food is available near the entrance to the park.

The ticket price is Rs 10 for adults and Rs 5 for children up to 10 years of age.

Small narrow ghat. Not really worth visiting, IMO. The havelis/hotels on either side of the road have high walls so the view is restricted. View is not that great anyway ;-)
Dogs there are a bit aggressive.
But, as expected, less crowded than the other ghats.
Historical monuments during reign of Rajput Rulers of mewar kingdom .
Maharana Pratap named Udaipur on name of his father Maharana Uday singh g .
Such a great experience 🤠.
You should explore and conclude about the warfare techniques of Rajput rulers .
As they have done a great job .
. Jay Maharana Pratap .Jai mewar
Very peaceful and away from the city crowd
The well-manicured gardens, adorned with vibrant flowers and intricate designs, created a picturesque setting.

The historical significance added a layer of cultural richness to the experience. The architectural details and the ancient water structures added to the charm of this oasis.

The peaceful ambiance and the soothing sound of flowing water made it an ideal retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The maintenance and cleanliness of the site were commendable, enhancing the overall visitor experience.
Loved the place as a tourist..we visited here in the evening time..the place was very peaceful with lush green Vegetation and well maintained garden.
There are multiple fountains..the fountain with elephant statues and water Lilly was really good.
The walk around the place is good .
"Moti magri" located near fatahsagar lake and this place is famous for the statue of brave soil & our rajput hero "Maharana Pratap" with his favorite horse"Chetak"

Must recommend during udaipur visit...!!

Lal Ghat in Udaipur is like a quiet gem hidden in the bustling city. It's a place where time slows down, and you can feel the real charm of Udaipur.
The best thing about Lal Ghat is the view of Lake Pichola. You can sit by the water and watch the boats go by. The lake shimmers in the sunlight,⚡☀️ and it's so peaceful.🤍🤍
There are also some lovely cafes and restaurants around Lal Ghat. You can enjoy a cup of chai or a delicious meal while taking in the view. It's a great spot for people-watching too.❤️❤️
The buildings around Lal Ghat have a unique charm ✨. They're old and full of character, and some of them have been turned into boutique hotels. Staying in one of these hotels is like stepping back in time

Lal Ghat in Udaipur is a fantastic spot to soak in the serene lakeside view of Pichola. This place offers a breathtaking panorama of the old heritage city, exuding a relaxing and calming ambiance. It's ideal for sitting on the stairs by the lakeside, whether with friends or family.
As night falls, the lake sparkles with the lights from the surrounding royal heritage buildings, creating a truly magical atmosphere.

The only drawback I noticed was people smoking in a public area, which detracts from the experience. It would be beneficial if the authorities could monitor and curb this habit.

What a view this ghat has. Far better than the other gangaur & Maaji ka Mandir Ghat (Ambrai ghat). This lake side place is very quite to spend time with your family & friends. Lal ghat is one of the best place located right behind jagdish mandir and city palace (1min walking distance).
This is hidden Gem 💎
If you are on Udaipur trip, you must visit this place. Rope way facility available.

The original ghat for the tourists visiting Udaipur... before any other ghat became a popular spot for tourists. Place is safe for ladies and girls visiting during late evening hours. Most of the restaurants and hotels have been there since the inception of tourism in Udaipur, lal ghat guest house has still retained its old world charm, Jagat niwas palace in a centuries old haveli is refined and chic. Most of the roof top restaurants do not rest on their laurels that they have stunning views of pichola lake and lake palace but strive hard to offer dishes to die for. Now has, a day and evening market where I have seen some quality stuff..leather,silver, textiles. A must visit for all discerning travellers.
Nice park, under construction. In front of Lake and have many nice view points. It has a cafeteria for snacks and outside the park you can have tea with a nice lake view.

Entry fee is very minimal approx 20 rs and have many selfie points. You can bring kids as well.

Beautiful temple located on the shore of Fatehsagar lake.
Just love going to this temple. Feels even better when I reach here by cycling around 12kms. It's so peaceful, it's along the lake fatehsagar. Architecture is beautiful and detailed. There is Hanuman temple in the premises as well.

Every Tuesday in the evening Sundarkand path takes place in Hanuman temple followed by special Aarti. You can come for that, it's very energetic and refreshing.
One of the best view for sunset. Take the boat ride from this point. ₹180 per head , 20-25 minutes ride.

Nice place to visit
Awesomeness guaranteed. Serene, quite and peaceful place. You might see a weird breed of animals called tiktokers doing crazy stuff here, but don’t go near them or they’ll start changing places and spread out everywhere. Rather choose a sweet spot for yourself and enjoy the sunset.

Find these local kids playing around and talk to them, they have fun stories to tell, and you might get lucky to witness their talent like I did (ref.videos).

Must visit place if you’re here, ask for Alsigarh lake and you’ll magically appear here. Best time to visit - just before sunset, else it’s gonna be too harsh. Carry your food & water because it’s isolated here and you need to keep yourself hydrated under direct sun and no place to shelter yourself.

Good point. Cool views of Fatesharar Lake. Good parking space. Walk way. Well spent evening. Must visit place in Udaipur, specially evening.
An excellent place for health activities for citizens adjacent to Nehru Garden boating point in lake. Locals can be seen doing Pranayam, Yoga, and aerobics, and children playing on jhullas. As a tourist, and having reached here brisk-walking from my travellers hostel in the morning, I found the park as a wholesome place to visit.

It's far from main city. Around 5 km from city center. You need a vehicle to reach here and dont travel alone or in late hours as the road is vacant and no people or building near by. The route passes near the army area and may have some limit athond at times. I love udaipur board is only attraction buy it dosent worth traveling that far. Pratap park may become a good spot after some years with some shops and all. This area is very empty and its not a park as such. Some outdoor fitness equipments are available there. Its a good area for a group to have a morning or evening walk and do some basic work out at a pollution great area.
