El Meson is my absolute favorite restaurant. I lived down the street for many years while in Houston and we went there frequently. Having both Spanish and Cuban style menu options is great, and of course the margaritas! I usually get tacos al carbon.

Honestly delicious food with amazing atmosphere. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. The tuna appetizer needs some work it was salty and super fishy smelling but everything else they did fantastic including poblano soup, empanadas, etc. Good drinks too. I will be back :)
Red hot sauce was not hot or flavorful. Disappointed that food was brought out at different times. My food came out but it was another 10 minutes before my companions soup was brought out. Was not comfortable eating mine when he had no food, so I waited for his food to be brought out and then mine was cold.
Enjoyed the cheese enchiladas and a beer. What we got was good, but feeling it was a bit expensive. Also the red salsa was not good - way too much lime!
The food is AMAZING! Our server Geo was the best! She was knew the food inside out since she decided that to be the best at her job, she had to know and taste the food to help her customers make the right decision for their pallets. All of the staff was welcoming and their street corn is so delicious. It took me back to when I was a kid walking up to the elotero and him making my corn on the cob the way I liked it. My family and I will definitely come back and invite friends and family to come along on this tasty adventure into authentic Mexican food.
They up charge every time we go there. The oil from the fryer is old and dirty. The food has a rancid taste to it. The beef is not actual fajita and they charge an additional amount when you order chicken. This aint like how it used to be. The food tasted bad and the waitress are never attentive to our needs but they sure do expect that tip.
Too expensive my friend I went for a drink and charged us $70 bucks for four shots. Customer service sucks. If you’re a male then you will get great customer service. NOT WORTH YOUR BUCK

Our server was named Alex. He was fantastic. We let him know it was our first time being at Ambriza and he explained everything to us recommended his favorite drink/entrees. I had the pineapple orange margarita and it was amazing!! My entree was the enfrijoladas and they were 10/10. The restaurant also gave us a complimentary appetizer and it was a very nice gesture from the staff to make our experience so great. I will defiantly be returning here and bringing my husband with me as I went with my cousin. Overall I truly enjoyed eating here it was quiet as it was a sort of slow night but the drinks food and service was great.
If you’re in the area around Tomball or around Houston, do yourself a favor and visit this restaurant!!

I have been coming here since I was a kid, when they were just a small restaurant. The experience and food have always been great. Everything holds up after all these years, and I always feel a great familiarity and comfort spending my time here.
The food was pretty good. The customer service is a little dry but not rude. The burritos are a great size and very filling.
I'm 37. I've been going to Del Pueblo since I was 12. It's a good place. Now, I love these guys. I love the food they have. Fajitas especiales are a great option. I also love their stuffed avocados. Everybody who waited on me here was a great waiter. I gotta say, however. I hate to say it. I can't get my mom to go here with me unless we sit outside. Why? Well, she told me it's just very filthy inside. Very dusty and gross. So we sit outside. I don't particularly like sitting outside, but then I look inside, and i notice that the ceiling is caked with dust, the windows are grimy and dirty. It's actually really gross. I love this restaurant, but I think they can afford to clean these things. I come here every month or so and will remove this review and revise it if the ceiling and the windows are cleaned. I really like this restaurant, and hate to say these things, but it needs to be said. Please do something about it guys. I've been coming here for 20 years, and now that I've noticed all the dust in the ceiling I can't ignore it. Thank you, and I'm sorry that I had to post this.
Good solid food. Taste was very good, portions were large. I especially liked the horchata. The fajitas were hot and fresh, and smelled delicious. The enchiladas were well filled, and while the meat could have been a bit more flavorful the sauce helped make up for it with a good cheesey punch. Would definitely go again, I hear their breakfast is excellent.
The cashiers are always so rude, no smile, no greeting… and if you don’t know Spanish they treat you like you're a bother to them. Food is decent but I hate having to deal with the negativity
My business colleagues and I had a great dinner outing at El Meson Restaurant in Houston. This has been a long time favorite of one of my colleagues from his time in college. For over two decades he has been dining here and he provided us the great privilege to enjoy an authentic and absolutely delicious Cuban / Tex Mex cuisine. From the start with the best lemonade I have ever had, chips and house made salsa dip, to the starter salad which came with a beef taco, and I finished my meal with the main entree being the beef enchiladas. Everything was delicious and satisfying. The portions were filling but not too much. The staff were friendly and courteous. Our beverages stayed full and they made sure everything was just right for us throughout the evening. El Meson is a must to dine at if you are in Houston. Muchas gracias El Meson.
Excellent food and service. Absolutely love the tapas here. However, the Matador (drink) isn't that great, but otherwise, everything else is top notch. Have been several times with the wife and love it for a low-key date night.

This place wasn't far from the museum district and I really enjoyed the food & the atmosphere. I wasn't sure what to order and my server recommended my dish and it was on point.
I don't normally give 5 stars because I feel like their is always room for improvement. This is the one exception. David was our server, and he was amazing with the best recommendation ❤️ The food was incredible!!!!! It is on the pricey side but worth it. Will definitely be back again soon!

Setting a great standard in Mexican food. Love the decor, murals, enclosed patio. Chicken soup 🍲 was outstanding. Beef tips were plentiful, tender and delicious. Deserts outstanding.
The food is really good. High place for tex -mex, and some reviews are correct when it comes down to service. The hostess don't greet or welcome you when you walk in, they just look at you and look away. The Aguas frescas were amazing! It's a good decent place for the prize. They give alot of food especially the parrilladas.

Found El Meson while driving around with family on a Sunday. Boy am I glad we stopped here, this place has some fantastic Spanish / Cuban food. Also, being from a family of bread-o-holics this incredible bread, which is there restaurant secret. We ordered three different types of tapes and I ended up enjoying the lamb and sausage tapas the best! So it's great to experience so many different flavors and be apart of some great Houston history too!
I was told that this place was the new Ninfa's. I was told they retain the old chef staff and management from Ninfa's. I was told to expect the same decor.

The torta bread was super soggy and wet. The French fries were also unsalted. Waitresses didn't even check on you if you need something else. They need to learn how to make food. It's a nasty disgusting service all together.
The food wasn't that great. However, would make me give them one star once I got to the register. I was charged with a different price from what the menu said will definitely not be going back there.

Enchiladas here are delicious and you can never go wrong with their breakfast! We come here often and no matter the time of day the service is outstanding and they are kid friendly 🙌

This place is absolutely amazing. Everything from the origin story of the business, to the atmosphere, to the service, to the food. 100% you won’t regret coming here. The drinks are top notch, the fresh baked Pan Dulce is amazing. The servers are always so nice and accommodating. Whether you’re looking for a great weekend brunch spot, or a cozy and romantic dinner spot, or a place to drink with your buddies… they have it all!
I took a friend to lunch there. Im very dissapointed in the enchilada dinner, the gravey was a light orange. With a odd taste and odd texture. I didnt finish it. Been going there 5 years , first time getting bad tasting food. Cook needs more teaching. Also, no flavor on food.

The food is good, but the waitress never returned my card after payment. I didn't notice after I left. I thought It felt on the floor, but the defensive attitude of the waitress raised my alarms. She threw everything on the table and claimed she didn't have anything. Luckily, I saw the corner of my card peeking out from a bag where she had all her tips. I took it upset, and I left, I should have demanded for owner right on the spot. It happened the second week of August.

The service and atmosphere was great. Very clean restaurant and attentive server. The food on the other hand was decent for its price. Very fulfilling just not the best taste. The beef quesadillas was good and the refried beans and rice was decent. I only had a problem with the enchiladas. They seemed over cooked and the meat tastes dry. The salsa was not my favorite because I like it to be more spicy but if mild is for you then the flavor wasn’t bad at all.
I went doing the lunch schedule so the price of the food was not expensive at all so that was a plus. I will visit again just to try a different dish.

Good food at great prices. Had the lunch beef enchiladas (no American cheese on top)… beef is nicely seasoned, really good beans, rice was ok. Good salsa, but better when I mixed the green and red together. Good service. Small place. Will eat here again.
My boyfriend and I waited 40 minutes for a burrito and a fish and with rice . More than half a hour if the place was full it would be understandable but it was empty .
This is a nice little Spanish restaurant in a tucked away, shopping center. The service was very slow but the food was fresh and hot. The atmosphere was great, and the waitress was very sweet.
On 09/02/2023 I ordered from the online menu which consisted of photos of a dated menu. I was surprised to get a bill that was $10 higher than expected, each menu items was 15-20% higher, and I was also charged $0.5 extra per menu item for the take out. As it is typical for many Mexican restaurants the food and salsa was too salty. Not an experience I would care to repeat. Do not click on the link to the restaurant website, malware.
I used to love coming here on the weekends, but now they have bandas. It’s so loud you can’t even speak to the people you’re with. It is so loud it’s ridiculous. Not coming back again! It used to be a family friendly place, but how can you enjoy yourself when you can’t even talk to one another.

Margarita was yum and so were my enchiladas. When asked for a green sauce to go I was rudely invited to purchase one for 2.99. I basically had to beg for small one to go. The is not the way you treat customers.

Every time I go in there the prices changes for the same amount of food that I ordered before they need a updated menu with prices so people know. Sad thing about it is the food is actually good and service can be good or terrible depending on the person You get. Hope they update no likes feeling ripped-off. Hope others have better experience then me.

This place is great! The atmosphere and food were awesome. The servers were very professional and attentive. The food was fresh, hot and authentic. The Mexican Street Corn is a must try. Special shout out to Ana/Anna who was my server today. Awesome customer service! I will definitely be back. UPDATE: I went back for my birthday and the service was stellar! Nelson was very attentive and professional. Ten stars!

We ate lunch. It was not busy at 12pm on a Thursday. Easy to park. We ordered off the lunch menu. Each of our meals were $11.99 each. They had a happy hour, beer $2.50, and a margarita for $5. We did not get alcohol. The chips and green sauce and salsa was very good.
I had beef fajita tacos that were covered in gravy and cheese with rice and refried beans and I got a side of the Borracho beans, they were excellent. There was so much food I took half of it home. The tacos were very large and full of meat.
My sister had a beef taco, and it came with two cheese enchiladas rice and beans. She said it was very good.
We would definitely go back here.

This was my second time coming to El Meson and it certainly won’t be my last. The tapas are all exceptional and pack a lot of flavor with each bite. This restaurant serves Spanish food and has an amazing wine list. The quality of the food is outstanding and you can tell they take the time to make it right. We had the paella El meson and it was delicious. I like the rice to be a little more dry it was served a little on the wet side but the flavor and shellfish were on point. The bacons wrapped dates are a healthier option as a dessert and were delicious. Can’t wait to come back and try more of this menu!

Food is good but the people were not. The guy that brings the chips, salsa, and refills the drinks has the bad attitude and demeanor. He alone almost ruined my meal. If I had a decent service in that area, I would return, but this guy is so poor in customer service that I can’t justify going back. I still left a 33% tip

We came across this place, always looking to find a great new spot for Mexican food. It was our first time trying this place, which was very packed during our visit. Not very friendly upon entry to the business, the host did not greet us, just asking how many. However, it did not take them long to sit us down, around 15 minutes. Now, our waiter did not seem to be having a good day and was rude. At less, he was not trying to rush out after we ate.

Do not go to this place. The lady server who is usually there has a bad attitude. After coming back from the pandemic, people there don't seem to change their attitude. Lady always gives me a bad look like if she doesn't want to deal with certain customers. Come on you've got to treat everyone the same. I'm friends with the owner and every time I ask for her, she always responds to me like she doesn't want me to ask anything That is ridiculous. Looks like they ought to close this place down because of bad service.
Best tacos al vapor, I have yet to find a better place. I will say there have been rare (I want to emphasize on the rare) instances when the taste is off slightly from the high standards I’m used to but still delish. Their sopita de fideo is the closest to homemade that I can think of.

Honestly third time that I came here gave them the benefit of the doubt it’s either card reader doesn’t work or the servers have there mean mug face and then they close when ever they want ..
El meson rest was on my list to visit and I’m glad my friend agreed. Valet personnel was very attentive and generous. Quickly welcomed and seated. Promptly greeted by Olivia our server. Food was very very good. Even when server set the expectations about the wait time for paella it came on decent amount of time. Portion was generous, definitely serve more than 2. Everything was delicious.

I enjoyed the feel of the restaurant, the service was Very Good, and the taste of the food was delicious and the tortilla's were made fresh. I did have a few problems with the kitchen. My Sister ordered some tamales plain but when she got them they were covered with the sauce she didn't want in the first place. Second my food was warm and Not hot. I still ate it and these were my only complaints. Other than that the food was Great.
Absolutely loved this place! The green sauce was so good. I think we had 3 or 4 bowls of it 🤭 the fajitas came with a lot of meat, and the gordita was 🤌 can't wait to go back here.

It’s an Spanish and Cuban cuisine, offering a variety of grilled meats, seafood and tapas. The menu also features a list of paellas🥘 and dishes with bomba rice. Wonderful wines from Spain 🇪🇸 perfect pairing with the foods. Don’t forget to ask for the steak 🥩 sandwich or pork sandwich 😉

I ordered three Tacos al Pastor with all the fixings (grilled onions, Cilantro, Avocado slices, shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes, slice of lime and a grilled jalapeño. No rice, no beans. The tacos come on warmed corn tortillas (not crispy) with a generous amount of seasoned chopped lean pork (Pastor). Typical, one would dress up their taco to suit your taste. I add a little of each; grilled onions, Cilantro, Avocado, slices of grilled jalapeño and a squeeze of lime. This makes quite a fat taco! But it is easy to eat, all the flavors contribute to the street taco flavor. This three taco plate is very satisfying and will leave you full, with no rice nor beans. Fast, friendly service, clean tables AND menus, great atmosphere, relaxed vibe. Tacos al Pastor at Las Flores, treat yourself!
We've been coming here for years and it is consistently good. An order of queso and some shrimp enchiladas are a must, especially with their endless fresh chips! Be aware that the carrots are hotter than the jalapenos they come with (queso side).
Half of the dishes we ordered were way too salty! They said these shrimp and vallarta ceviche were this salty at any restaurant. I don’t think so. We returned the salty dishes and did not want those back.. The steak and shrimp was good though

We had dinner here and I'm gonna have to say so far since we've been here this is the most Authentic Mexican food we've had yet. We ordered a burrito suizo with the fajita meat which was very tender and a great portion. It was served with beans and rice and guacamole salad. I am not a big beans and rice person but I always try it. Their rice was so tasty that I couldn't stop eating it! We also ordered the El burrito grande with the fajita chicken which again the meat was very tender. This burrito is a good portion as well and very tasty! It didn't come with any sides but it had plenty inside to fill you up. I have to say a must try for sure! The staff was very friendly a 10 from me!!
We stopped at this place during a weekday for a late breakfast. I had some chilaquiles. Everywhere makes them different and here apparently they make them with scrambled eggs, I asked for my eggs sunny side up instead. I really enjoyed my breakfast. Also had a glass of fresh orange juice. Not sure if we will go again the place smelled like cigarettes and coffee.
I called to place an order but end up just telling them never mind I'll come in to order since they were not getting my order right. When I arrived, it turned out the menu I had was old, so for some items like the fried stuffed avocado, they didn't know what I was talking about.
The wait wasn't too long, considering the large order I placed, and a team member even came out to get me when my foid was really (very nice of them). I ended up returning since they forgot to put the tortillas in my bag.
Overall, the food was good. I especially enjoyed the fajita shrimp and chicken. We didn't like the beef or the fried rice.

This place has the best pozole in town also make sure to add the jalapeños that are provided to kick up the heat level. Also the tacos al carbon are really delicious with excellent seasoning on the fajita meat so I would recommend to get them as well. I have never had a horrible experience coming here and I have even used their catering service before, where we have gotten the carne quisada. As you can see I have eaten a lot of their menu and have no idea why I haven’t reviewed them before. So check them out if you are really hungry
Visited on 7/18 afternoon, they had a dj and live entertainment. The service is not great. while our server was taking our order, another server approached her while my husband was speaking to her and they both walked away. First time at this place, we ordered queso flameado with beef fajita and it did not come as the menu described. We tried the ceviche rojo and that was good. My kids ordered chicken with fries and the fries looked old. We spoke to the manager to alert him of the awful appearance of the fries and also we requested no seasoning on them he took them, came to inform that fries are already seasoned and brought the same awful looking fries out to my kids. Our first impression of this place was not great.
On my way to/from work I would always pass by this place & was always curious to try. Love Mexican style seafood & was not disappointed. Good food, service & friendly staff(Luz María helped us out). Stopped by on Saturday with my sis & parents, they also liked place & food. That day they had a live bad that was good... Oh & their green salsa is so good(gotta ask for it & it's super spicy). Hope to return again, soon!

Food is really good! Great prices too. I recommend the enchiladas Rojas. They use queso fresco not the smelly one lol. The people that work there are very nice and attentive.
It's clean. Small inside but spaced out. The price is low and plenty of choices. The food may be precooked. But you must ask for condiments.
FYI - While the sign outside says Taqueria Restaurant El Gallo Del Oro, the place is really Restaurante El Rinconcito Calentano.
Second time here in 3 months. This is really a lovely little Mexican place. The furniture is classic mexican restaurant style, a big upgrade from standard entry level often seen in just getting started restaurants. On the first visit I had some lunch tacos that were very tasty. Can't remember exactly which ones, but they DO make their own tortillas, both flour AND corn, IN HOUSE. This is a game changer. Today I went with a co-worker and I had the #1 Beef and Chicken Fajitas, with corn tortillas. This also included a small side bowl of charro beans and bacon soup. Everything was full of flavor. Thick pillowy tortillas that I filled with nicely charred beef & chicken fajitas mixed with caramelized onions and green bell peppers. So so so good.
Also they do have three levels of hot sauce, the green is basically pureed jalapeños, the dark red is a wonderful smokey hotness, and the bright red is a robust put some hair on your chest, but full of flavor hot sauce. Pair any of them with the meal or the super crunchy chips and you're getting your mouth burn on!
Washed this down with a massive lemonade.
On this visit we got quick prompt service. Both of the ladies that took the order, brought the food and rung us up at the register we very sweet nice and helpful.
The menu is HUGE. Everything is reasonably/cheaply priced. Lots of items to make my way though. Will be back.

Holy cow. Everything we had here tasted good. The seafood was also fresh and the customer service was great all around. Can't wait to go back and try other dishes on the menu. Keep up the great work!
The food was very good! The quesadillas are very magical. They're rich with flavor and it is delicious! I love the food! Service was especially great! But, the thing I love the most is the fish. Jim, the orange one, was nice. I really liked him. He gave me an introduction to the spectacular place. Tom, the gray one, was very emo. He was listening to Highway To Water. He didn't say anything. The other fish didn't say anything too. So, overall, epic
The staff was fast and friendly. The food was hot, fresh and delicious. We had a table of 9 and every single dish was unique and beyond tasty. We left wanting more!
First time here and the food was pretty good. I had the lunch special shown in the photo and it was $7.99. I really liked their ceviché and even bought some extra to take home. Service was pretty good also. I recommend this place to the seafood lovers 😁
