Totally unexpected. We discovered the place via Google and it is truly a winner. Ambience was great and service exceptional. Will definitely come back.

The food was great, but I was charged more than what was advertised on the menu del día.

It’s quite disappointing and feels like a bait-and-switch tactic. The bill had unexpected charges that weren’t mentioned beforehand.

I won’t be coming back anytime soon due to this practice.

We chose:
REDUCED MENU:
20€ (25€ Weekend and Bankholidays)
2 STARTERS TO SHARE, MAIN AND DESSERT OR COFFE
1 DRINK
BREAD

We did not get 1 drink and bread was charged aswell.

Also the base prices of all bebidas are higher then anywhere else in Valencia espresso double for €4,00 and simple beer for €4,30 most places will charge 60% or 75% of that. I live here and never pay more then €3,00 for any kind of coffee
Very nice atmosphere, amazing food! Nice people!!!

Great place to eat. For special occasions and events. There are private rooms.
Food is superb. Everything we ordered was delicious. I can tell they use very quality ingredients.
Praws from Denia were spectacular. Almost 15€ each.
Lubina a la sal exquisite 👌 ✨️
Staff is very kind and helpful.
I really recommend it.
Simple restaurant but excellent food and top Service at a reasonable price.

Great seafood dishes and desserts. It is recommended to visit Valencia. Book tables in advance.

A restaurant in that category should be way more friendly. We got a maindish (merluza) without any vegetables or sidedishes. The prices for e.g the gambas are just too high. We liked the atmosphere, the variety of wines and the desserts.
We went during lunch just before the kitchen closed. They got our order and the food was prepared within 20min. Everything was tasty and didn't look like Spanish cuisine (which is a nice change).

I went there before and this place went through some changes. They changed the layout a bit, and the personnel changed too. Before the place was orientated towards more younger people offering a twist in their menu. Now they changed the concept slightly and is now suitable for everyone

I loved everything about La Mar. The atmosphere was friendly without being overbearing, and quiet without being awkward.
The food was incredible with the paella being the star of the show.
There was only one person serving and one person in the kitchen - but you don’t mind waiting when the food is that good!

We had a value-for-money lunch here. We enjoyed two traditional dishes. There was quite a bit of wind outside, but the terrace is nicely sheltered so we still had the option to sit outdoors. The service was smooth.
Fantastic pulpo ceviche!! But that’s about it..
Service was ok, I mean they were nice people but they clearly didn’t have any clue how to give proper service. Both dishes came at the same time. The wine was terrible pick for my food (I asked the waiter for advice), they were playing music in the restaurant which was fine, but they also played music in the kitchen which was so loud that I couldn’t hear it in the restaurant.
Go there for the ceviche and then leave😄
Excellent food, great service (thanks to Jesus) and cosy place! Would definitely recommend it! :)

I chose the restaurant because wanted to try the grilled lobster. The service was ok, but took long to place the order and get it, even though the restaurant was not that busy. The lobster had too much butter and this took from the flavour

Stopped in for dinner, had an excellent seafood focused meal. Presentation, service, and food was excellent.

Started with the ceviche which had a wonderful balance of mango, avocado, and fish (among other ingredients). The grilled octopus was perfectly cooked. We finished with the day and night dessert (orange tart and almond ice cream), also nice. The Chardonnay the owner recommended was wonderful.
Fantastic paella!!!! Highly recommended! very authentic and delicious. Super service! Will definitely come back.

This is a spanish restaurant. Even though the menu is typical spanish, all the dishes have some small touches and generally all are quite tasty. The atmosphere is nice, people are friendly.
Great, tasty and fresh food, helpful service, but nobody speaks english here, so feel awared. :)

We had a fantastic dinner yesterday with a group of friends (we are five) at Restaurante Pulpo. The location is relatively quiet, but the restaurant itself is nice and cosy, especially for dinner. We ordered three starters and two main courses, all of which are amazing. The dishes are carefully prepared and presented with a lovely plating. As expected, the grilled octopus is fantastic, but the tuna sashimi is also exceptional (one of the best we ever had). For starters, we liked the grilled bell pepper with garlic sauce that the waiter recommended. The waiter was also amiable and well-spoken, and he detailed all the information before we made any order. I would definitely recommend it to everyone who plans to have an excellent dinner with their friends and families.

Good, innovative food in a sleek, inviting space. Many of the dishes were delicious but the eggplant with brandade and the leeks with chicken were highlights. Staff was very professional and attentive. Great wine list. Good value over all.

A delightful restaurant, small excellent menu with choice of degustation, a la carte or very sophisticated bar snack sharing plates. Only being open for 9 months with current owner Nicklaus he has created a cool atmosphere, lovely wine list and has clearly a dedication and passion for excellence.
We had mainly bar snacks with a wonderful mussel ravioli from the a la carte menu. All were superb. If we were in Valencia longer we would return and eat through the whole menu!
We had the best time here. The food was delicious and atmosphere and owner were super pleasant. The ingrediants are all from local areas and high quality and the pricing is fair. Absolut recommendation!

Best food that I have had in 20 years of visiting Spain. The artichoke starter was amazing fresh and very well cooked with a lovely sauce. Also the patatas bravas was homemade and with excellent sauces. We had the gazpacho manchego for the main and it was incredible, very traditional and cooked to perfection. The puddings where also homemade and the cinnamon fritters where full of flavour. It is just a short walk from the main train station well worth visiting if you want to experience traditional Spanish cooking at its best.
The staff are incredibly friendly and the service is excellent. I highly recommend a visit.

Nice place
Good product and nice staff
Geheimtipp für Gourmets: das Menü mit 8 kleinen Gängen für 50€. Grandios lecker. Der Service manchmal etwas unaufmerksam. Ein schöner Abend in netten Ambiente.
Visited with a friend as staying nearby. Friendly welcome from waitress and seated outside. Ordered bottle of house wine, very reasonable at €15.80, and a zero coke, starters, mushroom croquettes, anchoas del cantabrico (anchovies) chorizos a la sidra (chorizos in cider) solomillo (sirloin steak) cooked to perfection, and paella for two to share, and a tarta de chocolate (chocolate cake). All our food was delicious and thoroughly enjoyed, hopefully be able to return before we leave......
Have managed a return visit here, before going home, we sat inside as tables full outside, ordered mushroom croquettes, patatas bravas with blue cheese as starters, then solomillo with fries, and a 1/2 la mar salad, a chuleton (ribeye) with fries, which comes with a hot plate to cook your steak to your own taste, again all our food was delicious, its a luvly wee place inside, again thoroughly enjoyed our return visit, gracias. :) :)

I had an excellent experience here. We were visiting from the US and did a quick Google search and found this cute niche spot. It gave me a fine dining experience but for a great cost and bigger portions than I expected. The food was fabulous and the owner even came up to us and told us all about his new restaurant and his story. He offered us a free yummy dessert. He was so kind and welcoming. We really appreciated their take Spanish cuisine. I can't wait to go back!
I would not recommend this restaurant under any circumstances. I was denied a paella order because I was alone. They didn't even ask if I would like to order the large portion for two for myself. There was something discriminatory about it. The fish dish, which I then wanted to order from the menu, was not available. The cod I then ordered was almost cold. There was no freshly tapped beer, only beer from the bottle and instead of the ordered gastric flavors they served camomile tea. All in all, the disappointment and therefore not a cent tip.

We had a wonderful experience at La Prinicpal. The food was amazing, cozy atmosphere and we were the only tourists there. It is an authentic restaurant! A little bit more on the pricy side but it was worth it. Our waiter Diego was super friendly and made our experience 10x better. 10/10 would recommend!

Had an “arroz negro” and “paella señoret”. They were both really good. Also had some bravas that were really well made, flavourful but not spicy for the kids. Perhaps the best thing was the service though! Everyone was super attentive, helpful and efficient. The restaurant is walking distance from the Valencia science museum, so a good alternative is you want to avoid eating in the museum or oceanographic.

We visited Oganyo for a late lunch, the restaurant was almost empty and we had super fast service. The food was delicious, varied and sophisticated. We left full and happy. The restaurant is located in a residential area, not easy to find a parking spot, no fancy views but completely worth a visit. Thanks so much to the cooks and the waitresses, we felt very welcomed
It's too expensive in relation to what you eat.

I went to the restaurant to have dinner and it was a surprise how amazing it was. The food was prepared and presented with care and it was super tasty. The service was very good and the atmosphere was great. I would recommend it to everyone and I will definitely come back.
Best tapas ever! We order 6 different items and we loved all of them. Our waiter was great and gave us tips on how to order. We will definitely come back on our next trip to Valencia! 🤍
A small hole in the wall kind of a place but don't let that fool you!
Great staff-Extremely polite and welcoming

Gasrtrobar was located in a side street in valencia and the food was yummy served by Vicky and Tllu who were helpful and friendly

A simple restaurant with good food. Check the menu del dia. We choose carrot gazpacho and paella with duck and it was very good. The portions at menu del dia are small but tasty and worth the money. The waitresses are very polite and nice.
Basic, but good day menu, corect quality for money. Tasty paella with duck. Very kind and positive service

Come in and find out, when you are in Valencia. The team is pretty young and should keep going! The service might evolve, everything step by step. The dishes are very well prepared with a touch of creativity. I like the approach to share dished, especially the starters. Wine list is well chosen. Pricing is more than reasonable. The place gets the 5 stars for the dishes first! Please keep going!

The menu del día had a wide selection of choices at a very reasonable price: a drink, a first course, a second course, and a dessert. All for less than 13€. My salad had generous portions of tuna, and the scrambled eggs with artichoke had a rich flavor, my tarta de queso had a sharp taste of real cheese with a satisfying sweetness

Fancy restaurant with a spectacular tasting menu. We had reserved online and the system put us on the (not spectacular) terrace (aka plastic seats) - we got lucky and someone didn’t show up so in the end we got to enjoy the beautiful interior. Be sure to check your reservation to not having this stress. The waiters were accommodating and friendly and recommended the tasting menu. They didn’t have an up to date English menu, so some Spanish knowledge is useful to ease communication. Portion size was adequate to not feel over eaten and enjoy every course - wines and vermut selection is amazing too.

The restaurant is away from the touristy area which could be a good thing, however it was a big disappointment to me at least: today’s special, 6 pieces of navaja/razor clams, were not only sandy but also spoiled, for 17€. I was polite not to return them. The fideuá/noodle paella was very tasty, though a bit of Asian. Nice ambiance to dine but I wouldn’t recommend.

We were only in Valencia for 2 days and heard such great things about La Principal that we needed to try it. Dinner was phenomenal.

You have to make a reservation to eat here which we didn't know initially, so we made a reservation and ended up going later that evening. Would definitely recommend!

Far exceeded my expectations - menu diario for 11.90 in central Valencia? Had tartar de atún, very tasty, and a fish fillet with potatoes with a salsa verde, and the fish was just so good. Better than I have had at three times the price. Glass of beer, cup of coffee. Maybe I was just lucky, but it was a really good meal.

Food was delicious! This was my first time having a seafood paella, and I was not disappointed. For dessert, I had the crepe with almond creme and my wife had the nougat ice creme with Baileys. Service was great as well! Definitely would go again!
Loved the food, the place, the service. Went with family and had the daily menu, as well as plates from their normal menu. Decent portions, all of them delicious.
Great atmosphere and excellent food!

This is a lovely little gem in Valencia. Their set menus look amazing if you want to sample Spanish cuisine but I can only speak for the main menu. The starters and the dessert were lovely - I wouldn't rave about the main - we had the seafood paella. The thing that made this place says the service. The lady was kind enough to speak English with us, she was absolutely wonderful. Definitely go to this place if you can.

This place was fantastic.

I can't recommend it highly enough. This is a place you need to eat if you are in Valencia.

We tried about 5 things, and they were all excellent.

We were staying at the Hotel Barceló, and came here on a Google Search.

One of the best restaurants in Valencia (and we had many).
