This is just a small sitting area at the end of Albany St, but it includes a fanciful collection of imaginative columns. Some with pediments. Some not. They are all covered with brownish-red tiles. The center-most column has a pretty tile mosaic. Great view of The Hudson River and Jersey City skyline, which is growing by the minute. This spot also borders on the lovely Battery Park City Esplanade, which is well worth a visit.
Beautiful paintings, and some very unusual but well done sculptures. When I went they were exhibiting paintings of street scenes in Paris. Interesting style, very colorful. The sculptures were of part-man, part-animal figures. Don't forget to check out the at work in the basement.
Pretty little building that is now acting as a subway station entrance and exit. Clearly from an older time as it has some classic old architectural styling. This building is right at the edge of Battery Park along State Street.
Pretty little park with limited hours. On the edge of the pleasant seaport district.
Different kinds of wetlands; swamp, pond etc. Not as colorful as other gardens, but it's a peaceful area in which a path meanders past lots of different plants, trees and water features. This path also leads to other interesting areas of the gardens like daffodil hill and the picnic area.
