The Santo Domingo Obelisk is a 131-foot high monument erected in 1937 to celebrate the name change of the city of Santo Domingo to Ciudad Trujillo, under the orders of dictator Rafael Leonidas Trujillo. It’s located at Avenida George Washington, Malecón, Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional, Dominican Republic. It was designed in 1936. The male obelisk was designed to be seen from anywhere on the famous Malecón Avenue. In 1996, renown Dominican artists started to exhibit their colorful paintings on the white monument. It’s a historical landmark for many structures built during the Trujillo dictatorship have been torn down.
Puntacana Village is a residential area consisting of shops, restaurants, boutiques, bars, supermarket and pharmacy. It’s located in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. At night it’s beautiful and lit for the holiday season. It’s so pleasant to walk thru it and sit and relax to chat with friends and family. We went for dinner and the place is spectacular.

The Netherland Monument is a sculpture located at Battery Place and State Street, The Battery in Lower Manhattan, NY. It’s open every day of the week from 6:00 am to 1:00 pm. It’s the only gold-leafed inscriptions that I’ve seen in the park. It’s a gift from the Netherlands to New York City and written in English and Dutch. I find this to be a tremendous expression of friendship from the Dutch.
One Manhattan West Plaza is a park located at 401-397 Ninth Avenue, New York, NY. Citrovia, a 30,000 square foot lemon-packed art installation, is said to be a little slice of fruity heaven. The surreal space features dreamlike citrus sculptures, moody lighting displays, and plenty of seating bringing whimsical lemon groves to New Yirk City. The plaza is a beautiful place for taking great photos, enjoy time with a friend or just take a stroll through the beautiful ambiance and enjoy the color and creativity. I just love this place!
