Park itself is raised above the street level. It provides good viewing for surrounding. Always pack with events or stuff to see. I consider this is the center of the city. Even though park is small and not manicure as Madison park, it does has its own charm. It’s the place to be seen.
I used to work at a top floor of the building right next to the park. My window has direct views of the whole park. Seeing the 4 seasons of the park is something always amazes me. Summer is my favorite time in this park. Art installations, musics… also watched couple US open here. Fall is magical with the air that’s so crisp and sun so bright. Plants changing colors. We will come here daily while work. Cut through the park to work, having lunch, taking nap and the best is come see the dogs when I need the break from work. This park is small, but feels just the right size to host people’s need. Come here to sit and just experience life in nyc.
I’m really happy the city did lots of clean up and make this place a pleasant place to stop while you in this area. Because there really no other park around and so many tourist here. There are performance, vendors and lots of seatings. Be right next to Macy’s so whenever there is event from Macys, this place is pack. Christmas windows, thanksgiving parade. City needs this place.
A peaceful church in no mad. Good for lunch break.
This is one of the best way to hop around NYC. It stop at different neighborhood and easy to get on and off. Super fast and fun.
