Such a beautiful example of a late 13th Century Cathedral. It has the relics of San Sabina in the Crypt and the font on the attached Bapistry dates back to the 9th century.
Not as ornate and grand as some of the newer Cathedrals around Italy, but just as impressive in its old right.
The timber ceiling with all its beams is beautiful and the Crypt also has a more elaborate design and stunning Crypt.
Definitely worth a visit while in Bari.

Beautiful Basilica in the heart of Bari. A little different to other Basilicas we have seen in Italy as this one was a place of pilgrimage for both Catholic and Orthodox Christian.
Beautiful fresh flowers filled the church and the mosaic flooring was sublime.
The Crypt downstairs is also a love place to visit.

Another beautiful Italian Cathedral that is ornately decorated. We have come to expect this now in Italy, but each time we walk into a new one, the level of craftsmanship and detail truly take your breath away.
There is a small Bapistry that you can visit off to the side of the main Cathedral for just €2.50.
Whe the small mosaic ceiling is not intact, it is truly sublime with its level of detail.

A beautiful courtyard with 4 very intact sides measuring 100m each.
Said to be designed by the great Michaelangelo in his senior years, there are some gorgeous sculptures and animal figures.
There is a huge magnolia tree towards one end and if you go upstairs to the museum you will gain a beautiful perspective and some great photo opportunities through the oval windows.
A €12 pass will also give you entry to the Roman baths and the main Roman National Historic museum across the road.
The only disappointing part was that the baths were completely closed when we arrived for a private event from 17th May (today) to 1st June. They didn't mention anything when we purchased our ticket, only when we went to enter the baths. Very disappointed!

A beautiful marble fountain from the 16th century at the northern end of the square.
The craftsmanship is incredible and the fountain is a favourite amongst visitors and locals.
There are a lot of people selling items in the square, so be sure to know where your valuables are at all times.
Visit early in the day to avoid the crowds.
