This memorial makes you think and wonder how can we let such a terrible history happen. Although we can't change history, we can prevent our future from making the same mistake again. For that I think it's a successful installation. The surrounding is also beautiful and peaceful, which good for reflecting.
Another life-like statue of the French Maid of Orléans (ie Joan of Arc). I like this one more than El Cid's status across on the other side of the entry way to the Legion of Honor because it has better view here. From here you also get a nice view of the front of the Legion of Honor as well as the golf course just down the hill.
A life-like statue of the Spanish King El Cid outside of the Legion of Honor.
This modern art installation/sculpture makes the Jazz Mural behind it comes to live. It is one of the less know secrets of SF right on the border between Chinatown and North Beach (aka Little Italy).
If it weren't for the power cables on the streets I would have given them a 4 stars. They are very beautiful houses, but some are not as well-kept, so there is a lack of uniformity. So to be referred to as the Haight/Ashbury Painted Ladies seems a bit overrated.
