We were staying at Sahara. When we checked in, they gave us a few coupons to their restaurants with our key card. One was a BOGO 12 oz drink for AZILO between 10 AM - 6 PM. To get to the AZILO bar at the pool, you have to go through security who checks your ID & bag. They also don't allow outside food or drinks inside. When we got through security, the bar was on the right and can't be missed. When we looked at the menu, we were surprised at how expensive the drinks were. It was $21 for a 12 oz frozen drink! It wasn't until after we paid that we saw the words at the bottom: "tax, gratuity, venue fees all included in the price". Shouldn't the venue fee be included in our resort fee already? 😑
Pina Colada With Malibu Coconut Rum: This was good but too light and had too much ice. You don't taste the alcohol for this one.
Dole Whips: So you get a choice between pineapple & watermelon dole whip and between Casamigos Reposado Tequila & Malibu Coconut Rum. We got pineapple dole whip and Casamigos Reposado Tequila. They didn't mix it so the drink looks pretty but we didn't know that so when we took a big sip, it was straight up tequila and very strong. This combo surprisingly worked well together. You can take a sip of tequila then take a bit of the dole whip to balance it out or just mix them together. I enjoyed both ways but preferred the mixed way since the tequila was too strong for me.
After we got our drinks, we walked our to find a place to sit. They have nice seating areas which is really set up for a pool party with the 2 tier level separation. At the end of the pool area is a nice photo op set up with a golden arch and Azilo across it. Cool place to chill & watch the game (or people).

We came around 8 PM on a Tuesday night and it was packed! There were a bunch of people waiting to order & for their drink(s)/food. We waited about 5 minutes to order, 10 minutes for our food to come out, and another 7 minutes for our drink to come out. They sell a variety of things from snacks to desserts to drinks. After you order, they give you a number and announce it on an intercom so you know when to come up to pick up your item from the counter. There's a lot of unique seating and decor all around the store so it's a great place to chill & hang out. The crowd is surprisingly older than I expected though. Not sure if this is a Vegas thing compared to California where younger people tend to hang out at boba shops.
Special Popcorn Pork Belly ($9.95): Woah, this was really interesting and different. It's deep fried pork belly like popcorn chicken but they put whole peppercorn in the batter so you get a Szechuan taste. We're not a fan of the peppercorn seed since it can numb of tongue/mouth but they somehow made it mild enough for us to eat with no side effects. Mind-blowing! I think it's a must try once but not something I would get again and again like popcorn chicken.
Pink Drink By Strawberry Coconut Milk ($6.75): I forgot to adjust the sweetness/ice levels but 100% was actually perfect. It wasn't overly sweet or icy for a blended drink. The drink doesn't look very aesthetic because of all the particles floating and separation but it was really good. It was refreshing and something I wish smoothies would taste like. It wasn't too thick, heavy, or creamy. The cup is pretty big and they didn't load up on ice so I was able to share it with my husband. The crystal boba were plump and addicting to chew on. These are way better than the ones I get in California.

It was Friday so we were looking for a vegan place for lent. Did a quick Yelp search and found Shouk which looked really good so we decided to try it for lunch. We did street metered parking across the restaurant. They have a kiosk where you place your order then they will call your name when your order is ready. I really like their packaging where they put our pitas in a cardboard box that has the pull thing so you can break the box in half. The pitas don't look big but they're filling.
Shouk Burger ($13.75): I thought it was pretty good until I switched to the Fried Shouk'n. Then when I went back to the Shouk Burger, it tasted different (not as good) for some reason so I recommend sticking to one flavor. I enjoyed the tomato jam and pickled turnip but wish there was more sauce.
Fried Shouk'n ($13.65): It was cold by the time I tried it but my husband liked this a lot more than the Shouk burger. Overall the flavors were good. The oyster mushroom schnitzel doesn't stay crispy long so you have to eat it right away. The cabbage pieces were a bit too big and would have been better if they were cut into smaller pieces. The harissa mayo isn't spicy.

Very cute, clean, & spacious cafe. Fast service. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. What's not to love?
Almond Croissant ($4): The almond croissant wasn't heated up but it was still good. It also had a bit of filling in it. The croissant wasn't very sweet and also is great to dip in your coffee.
Pistachio Baklava ($2.95): Really good baklava with great flavors and plenty of pistachio bits. One of the best ones I've had!
Regular Chai Latte With Oat Milk ($4.95) and Biscotti Syrup ($0.95): The cashier girl was really sweet and was indulging me with experimental flavors for my latte. She recommended the chai latte since it was cold outside so the spices would warm me up. I don't usually go for chai lattes since every time I've gotten it, the spices were too much so I wanted to add a syrup to it. She gave me a few options that could go with the chai and I chose the biscotti one. She was also the one who made my drink and it came out really well. My husband who doesn't drink coffee loved my drink and drank half of it!!! Usually he only takes a sip to try so this was huge. I liked it as well but thought it was a tad too sweet for me.

The guy working the front is phenomenal! He wears multiple hats, is fluent in Japanese, efficient, & kind. When you are heading to your seat, the guy will announce something in Japanese then the whole staff welcomes you. We chose to sit at the sushi bar which was a great experience. We watched the chefs work and make our food. It was like an art. They put a lot of attention into each fish. The only downside is that they don't provide parking validation for the Japanese Village parking garage.
Special Hand Roll ($34.80): This was good but not worth it.
Assorted Sashimi ($38.80): Two pieces of 6 different type of fishes. The fifth one was my favorite then the fourth one. They tell you the order in which to eat which generally goes from "least good" to "great".
Cherry Blossom ($25.80): They gave the longest roll I've ever seen and the size of each piece was pretty decent. This one was really fresh and better than the Crunchy Vegas. The roll has no rice so it's easier to fall apart though.
Crunchy Vegas ($21.80): This was a pretty basic roll and lacking a bit of flavor.
Although this place is good, the quality isn't high enough to justify the price.
