located close to a tram station which was very convenient. visited on a saturday - crowded but manageable. good variety of food items (cooked and raw) as well as household goods and souvenirs. market was very well maintained (clean), dustbins available at every corners. toilets were very clean as well. honestly expected the market to be larger, but because of its smaller size it was easy to walk through the market in less than 3h including time to snack.

South Melbourne Market never disappoints! Every time I visit, I find something new to enjoy. The fresh produce section is top-notch, with vibrant colors and a wide selection of fruits, vegetables, and meats. I love the seafood section, where I can get fresh oysters and prawns straight from the source. The food stalls offer a diverse range of cuisines, from authentic dim sum to delicious pastries. What I also appreciate is the community vibe—it feels like a local gathering spot. Even though it can get crowded, the buzz and energy add to the experience. A perfect weekend destination!

It is so changed since my visits in the early 1980’s. A fun market and a wide range of choices. The fruit and veg was also cheaper than at the Queen Victoria Market

Nice Melbourne experience to have breakfast here. Jam packed on a Sunday. Nice vibe and some good coffee and food at different places.

Some of the best food, especially sushi, we have had in Melbourne!!!! Aptus Seafood Grill was amazing!!! I think I was talking to one of the owners and didn’t even know it. Nice guy. My Cookie Factory was delicious and had very nice visit with the owner too!! My 8 year old granddaughter had a blast shopping. Not much for the men but lots of shops for the ladies. We will go back every time we visit from the states!!!

Amazing! Fresh produce, from fruit and veg, through meat and seafood, to bread and deli.
Several oysters bars, all delicious! AU$ 20-25 for a tray.
There are many different stalls with clothing, kitchen supplies, cosmetics, plants and flowers. There is a separate food court and wine/ beer shops.
Much recommended but keep in mind that is super busy during a weekend

Pretty nice. A combination of all kinds of things, from food to clothes. Some are nice but some are average. I suggest try before you buy. Also, the seating is pretty bad. Most of the food shops have no seats but some bench tables. You have to stand up and eat.

Up front: DON’T EAT BEFORE YOU GO THERE!!!
With so many food stalls, you’ll want to sample the many delectable delights on offer.
There was a broad array of stalls - jewellery, plants, fruit, deli, cheese, seafood, bags, clothes, toys, vinyl records - so much to see.
Don’t expect it to be clearance prices though, you’ll pay retail.

Really nice Saturday morning market I visited with my kids. Lots of nice artisan stalls and small shops. Lots of things out of the ordinary. A few big fresh fruit and veg stalls and also a good sea food counter.
I went to try some recommended food places- Agathe French pastry and Padre coffee. Agathe looked great but there was a massive snaking queue so didn’t try this time. Padre was great and there were 4 different beans to try.
Spent about 2-3 hours there. Lots of public toilets. Lots of metered parking on the roads nearby.

Decent theatre. Very nice seats and the roof looked cool.

The Walk Arcade is a delightful area near Collins Street and adjacent ro Yarra End in Melbourne

Cool little hidden arcade with character. Worth a visit.

With this Covid Lockdown being removed it was great to get out and about. Haven't been there for so long and when we did get there it is all so different. Very Clean environment on the day we attended. Was quite busy, but that's good to see people going back into the city. If you haven't been there for a while, like us, do yourself a favour and go. It was the perfect day for us, great weather, walked around and shopped some, stopped for lunch and had a great pizza in one of the cafe's. Loved it

Nice walk along shopping stores n lots to see it's in CBD. So easy to just walk n see the shops n restaurants

Good shops for clothes and accessories in the Arcade. The lower floor also has a large Dymocks store. Third floor has restaurants and restrooms.

Awesome little store that provides Natural Spa Products. A Must Try
