Calgary Court Restaurant

I love their Hong Kong style breakfast! They have a lot of options and the price point is unbeatable.
The food quality is very consistent.
Their congee is a must try!

Calgary Court is always a nice stop for Hong Kong style cafe/comfort food, for any meal of the day. On this occasion, we ordered the baked Portuguese boneless chicken rice, snow cabbage and duck rice vermicelli, and black pepper beef fry handmade noodle.

Overall, the portions are large and you will have enough for the next meal. The flavors are good and concentrated (for example, the baked boneless chicken rice was plenty tomato-ey and cheesy) and the fry has enough "breath of the wok/鑊氣". The main down sides to this type of food is that it is a bit greasy and carb heavy but still nice to have once a while.

Their congees, fried rice, and sandwiches are also enjoyable and recommended.

Visiting Calgary Court was nothing short of a mesmerizing trip down memory lane, transporting me back to the vibrant streets of Hong Kong with each bite. The gastronomic adventure began with their delectably authentic dishes, each rich with flavor and prepared to perfection, resonating the true essence of Hong Kong cuisine. The milk tea, oh the milk tea - a heavenly brew that beautifully married the robustness of tea with the creamy sweetness of milk, providing a sip that was distinctly reminiscent of the iconic Hong Kong style. The impeccable food service, attentive and cordial, further enhanced the dining experience, ensuring each moment was as delightful as the dishes themselves. Memories of bustling streets, vibrant flavors, and the warmth of Hong Kong were evoked, all within the cozy confines of Calgary Court. A must-visit for anyone yearning for a genuine Hong Kong culinary experience right here at home. Five stars, without a hesitation!

A great place to order food, Hong Kong style.

Hong Kong style is more than a regional specialty, it is a way of (foodie) life.

The menu has many dishes, and there are some amazing choices here.

Like everyone else, I gravitate to a few personal favorites. One of which is the chicken clubhouse sandwich.

Not something you would think of in a Chinese restaurant, but it has been a great addition to my meals here.

This restaurant has lasted decades because it has great food. Plain and simple.

Hearty portions with a range of options for all food preferences.
Hunan curry, Singapore noodles, schezwan noodles are some of my favorite savory items served here. If you have a sweet tooth, french toast with red bean paste and a dollop of ice cream is a must-have!

And have you tried warm coca cola? Try it here! You'll be surprised by the unexpected, but lovely flavor profile.

Another hour tip: visit in larger groups so that you can order a variety of dishes they have on offer!

First visit. Was solo. Was greeted right away and provided menus and a hot tall glass of tea (amazing). Instantly felt comfortable. Ordered just one dish, the tofu with pork (#37f I believe?). It arrived steaming hot with a side of plain rice. Spice level was just right. Good textures and flavours. Loved my simple solo experience and will be back with friends so we can have more!

Can we take a moment to applaud the servers here? For decades we’ve frequented Calgary Court and they’ve always delivered in good food and service. They recognize us and remember our usual orders. The downside is shrinkflation has happened here. The portions are smaller for their more expensive dishes (though they’re still really tasty.) Of all the Taste of Asia Group restaurants, this one stands out for stellar service. The rest could use a lesson in customer service.
