A breathtaking monument reminding of the cruelty of Soviet Russia and the sad and tragic history of Polish soldiers during the Second World War. Combined with the view of Manhattan, it creates an interesting composition, where the past and war are combined with prosperity and modernity.
I went there for the first time in my life today. The statue has been described as 'shocking' by some... Shockingly awesome'would be more aptly correct! Love it! Respectfully, of course, considering the atrocity it represents.

I understand that some local residents might find this monument a bit controversial due to very graphic depiction of violence.
However, I believe it's also a great piece of art - in contrast to many traditional monuments.
People not familiar with the topic will immediately ask: What does this monument refer to?
On the other hand, we are normally used to passing monuments often without even properly noticing them.

The food trucks on the weekend are the best thing about this place. Dosa spot is yhe one you have to try. Along with halal food and popcorn and ice cream, it becomes a complete food festival.

Right next to the waterfront with a lot of food trucks. A great place to come in one of the weekend evenings and spend time eating a light dinner. Dosa Spot, Mexican grill and other food trucks have some nice options for you.

Oh this is definitely a great place to go. It's a memorial on the pier. You have the best view of the Manhattan skyline. Also, there's plenty of great food trucks. The statue itself is very beautiful. It's majestic. And the piers are wonderful. You can bring your whole family and find plenty of food and seating for all. I've come here with family, with friends, with anyone and everyone, and there's never a dull moment. Would recommend this place to anyone.
