OnSight Bouldering Glen Waverley

I had a fantastic time at this compact sized suburban gym. The space is used well and there are many problems at all levels. There’s plenty for everyone to enjoy. I just got back from a trip in Japan and was pleasantly surprised to find similar style technical (read: hard) climbs here. If you enjoy being gaslit by the wall, this place is for you. I failed V4s in Japan and similarly failed them here, so I appreciated the consistency. There was even a Japanese vending machine and appropriately named walls (like ‘Gohan’) to thoroughly trigger some PTSD flashbacks of my bouldering struggles. Highly recommend.

Friendly gym with really cool routes. Quieter than other gyms in the East Melbourne area, so even though it’s smaller you’ll easily have lots of opportunity to climb. Really enjoyed climbing here.

Really fun routes, clean, wide variety of free weights, friendly staff, interesting vending machine for those who love novelty. Chilled out bean bags, mobile charging station, geeky board games.

I've been climbing a long time and I've frequented many gyms over the years, but this has been my best drop-in experience so far.

Amazing route setting with a plethora of powerful and intricate steep climbing on grippy dual tex holds. Staff were incredibly friendly and really helped to create a great atmosphere. Also, their moonboard actually has friction still which is fairly rare.

I don't live in Melbourne but I'll be coming back whenever I visit.

Onsight is a nice climbing gym in the suburbs. It is a bit on the small side compared to other gyms that are around in Melbourne but it really does not pale in comparison.

The problems are really interesting and are very technical and on the outdoor style of climbing.

It can be a bit difficult for beginners but there are climbs for all levels of climbing. Staff will definitely help with that and make the climbs feel more approachable.

Resets are pretty often that you won't get bored. Definitely a gym for you if you want to get stronger, great place to find projects.

Staff are really friendly,supportive and are always keen for a chat and to take on any suggestions that you might have to improve the gym. They try to make you feel like you're part of a community. They also do events which is really nice and welcoming.

They also have a vending machine that are like the ones in Japan. Sooooo when you go hard on a climb you can always buy a pocari sweat or if its cold you can buy a warm canned coffee.

If you haven't checked it out yet, I definitely recommend going at least once.... and it will probably not be the last time you go :D

Lovely bouldering gym, the walls and routes were excellent.
This place is beginner friendly and there is free chalk to use.
This place uses the V scale for each route, ranging from VB to V10+ so there's plenty of options for all skill levels (though the highest there on the day was V9)

Legendary bouldering gym. The staff are all absolutely lovely and happy to welcome you into the gym, the routes are all well-set, and the vibe inside is 10/10. Would definitely make this my go-to if I lived in Melbourne
