St. Anthony of Padua Church, located in the heart of Istanbul's bustling Istiklal Avenue, is a serene church featuring neo-gothic architecture. Known locally as Sent Antuan Kilisesi, this is the largest Roman Catholic church in Istanbul. Inside, the church exudes a peaceful and solemn atmosphere, with its elegant stained-glass windows and ornate altar creating a sense of reverence. As it's Christmas, the church was also decorated with Christmas deco. It's a symbolic melting pot of diverse congregants, reflecting Istanbul's multicultural fabric. The church not only serves as a place of worship but also as a symbol of coexistence and tolerance in a historically diverse city.

This place was so beautiful. I visited this church 2 weeks ago with my husband. It is near to the Galata Tower too.

To reach Galata Tower from St. Anthony of Padua Church in Istanbul, you can take a pleasant walk. Head southeast on İstiklal Avenue, then turn left onto Galip Dede Street. Continue walking, and you'll reach Galata Tower in about 15-20 minutes, enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of the area. 🤗

Came here with a tour group in September.
A nice cathedral although not very imposing.
Not much art works or stained glass but still nice to visit.

The Amazing architecture inside and outside of the church was breathtaking. The church stands out very different from all the other structures in Istanbul in terms of being different. And it was clean and quite.

Such a divine Roman Catholic church that’s the largest in Istanbul... so peaceful and elegant as you can hear the chants. It is located in the heart of Istiklal Avenue and was built in 1912 after 6 years of being under construction.
