A true gem in Navy Yard. Delicious fresh seafood right on the water. And when the weather is nice, this is the perfect place to sit outside for a drink or to watch the game. In the summer they have some great frozen options. And since it’s so close to nats stadium, this is definitely the place to be on game day. One of my favorite things to order is the lobster roll. Amazing and buttery with tons of meat.but honestly everything on the menu is solid.

If I could give it a 10 I would! First off let’s just take in the prime location, the views and ambiance. The drinks and the food were outstanding. The wait staff was on top of their game making sure we were satisfied. The manager Carlos was presently vigilant and came around to introduce himself to everyone make sure things were running smooth. This is what true customer service and satisfaction is about.

This entire experience was AMAZING. The location was prefect esp. being able to walk to and from. We were greeted with a smile and asked where we preferred to sit (inside or out). Sitting inside was beautiful and service was impeccable. The oysters were delicious as a starter. The Warm Mushroom & Burrata Toast was okay. It was more cold than warm but the mushrooms were so tender and delicious. I ordered Crispy Duck Confit and OMG!!!! It was wonder. I ate everything. The duck skin was so crispy and rich. The meat was tender and melt like butter in mouth. Again the mushrooms, charred kale and sweet potato gnocchi reminded me of Thanksgiving dinner. The combination of everything left me speechless. Dessert was phenomenal. This was me and my cousin first time having a banana split and we WERE ELATED!!!!! The toasting of the banana was great. Drinks were delicious. We were able to talk to the chef and dessert was on the house.
This was a great first time experience. I will definitely be returning to Salt Line DC.

Excellent oysters and seafood. Oysters were half off for happy hour when we went so I got a dozen. Clam chowder was excellent. Pricey spot, but good.

They have great tasting seafood plus a large variety of it, an amazing view, and nice atmosphere. Which is why it kills me that we left with a sour taste in our mouth at the end due to the surprise 4% surcharge. They are charging it due to “rising labor costs associated with the new DC on minimum wages for tipped workers”, yet many places in DC do not add a surcharge. The surcharge is also counted towards the DC tax calculation and they include it in the added total for you to be aware of what to tip on. The only way to know ahead of time that there will be this added surcharge is from very tiny font at the bottom of the main menu. I highly recommend management get rid of this and simply increase prices if they have to rather than do this surcharge. It’s just very annoying and feels misleading. Other than that, the fried clam bellies and lobster roll were delicious, albeit expensive. The bartender was great and you cannot beat the view there. Would recommend eating outside on the patio if weather permits.
