Lives up to the hype! Got there shortly after opening and there was one table left.
To order, ask the servers for an English menu (they keep them in their pockets) and mark down what you want. The ladies on the clay pots are friendly and can help you flag down an English menu from the servers also.
Once you've picked what you want along with putting your name at the top of each sheet, pin the pieces of paper on the paper holder stands next to the clay pot lady. They'll then show you to a table.
Once the cold dishes are ready, the clay pot ladies will call out your name and you can collect from them. For hot dishes (e.g. Chicken wings and pork neck), they will deliver to your table.
Sticky rice, plates, drinks and sauce (Ngam Jim Gai) are all self service in the back right.
We ordered Chicken wings & thighs, Ko Moo Yang (Pork neck), Som Tam Thai, Corn Salad and Larb Pla Duk (Catfish Larb). Standouts were the Som Tam Thai and Larb Pla Duk!

The grilled dishes are charcoal-fired and definitely ones not to be missed. Had the chicken wings and grilled pork neck of which the latter is a definite standout with right blend of fats and protein. Try it with the dipping sauce and you are good to go.

A highly anticipated restaurant that my wife and I wanted to eat at while staying in Bangkok. This place is all over the food blogs and highly revered. Distinguished by its green awning we were in the right place.
Unfortunately we waited too long in the day to go. We entered the restaurant around 330 pm and we were the only two people in the eatery. This was a sign that they may be sold out of certain things.
3 of the items we ordered were sold out. We enjoyed our papaya salad with shrimp, 4 wings and sticky rice. I wish they recommended other things to try that they had in stock.
This a definite hole in the wall with cats, rats and fly traps all around. My wife was very off put by this but she survived the elements.
The owner was very nice and accommodating. She smiled and made us feel welcome and offered me some whiskey but declined.
Even though googles says they close at 6 they might close earlier. Around 4 it seemed like they were ready to call it a day.

I have heard about this Somtum place a while. There are so many food delivery like lineman or grab in front of the shop. It’s quite crowded during lunch time. Somtum is ok but so impressed with grilled chicken especially the chicken wings. I saw everyone ordered plenty of them. It’s tasty and cooked perfectly. This place is more like a self service, you look after yourself on sticky rice, drinks and jaew sauce. It’s good to learn the system how to order food as my ordered seems lost and skip my few queqes, just need to put your name or table number and keep listening to auntie if she questioned about ordering which I missed it.
Loved the food and the pork liver was the best food ever ate in Bangkok. Dont ask or hope for any service. The owner seems very tired but the son or daughter are rather kind. Meaning by kind is that at least they take our order😂
Absolutely LOVED!!! Highly recommend. The grilled meats are well seasoned and must order the papaya salad!
As for the staff, they were incredibly helpful and spoke a little English. They made me feel right at home.

[MUST-TRY AUTHENTIC NORTHERN THAI (ISAAN) CUISINE]
A 5 minute walk from my hotel within the Silom Sathorn area, this eatery serves some of the best Isaan cuisine I've ever tasted. Ordered Som Tum with grilled pork, grilled chicken wings served with a spicy/sour sauce, spiced & aromatic beef salad with a side of sticky rice. Delicious food that hit the spot and it goes without saying that Isaan cuisine is notorious for being spicy so, if you love spicy food, this place is heaven. But if you're like me - love spicy food but with a low tolerance, you'll still enjoy the food just order a Coke or something and you'll be fine.
The place is busy most of the time and the owners have a hard time even noticing you. Good thing about this place though is that they have an English menu, so for non-Thai speakers - you're safe!
Limited seating available so do come either before or just after lunch time (don't think they're open for dinner).
The cleanliness of this place is questionable but then again, most street-food style eateries are anyways.
10/10 will return if I'm ever in the area. So good.
