I went there on Sunday when there is free entrance between 10 am to 1 pm. Although there were people, you could hear the birds, admire the plants and enjoy the silence. There are benches where you can sit and enjoy. There is ceramic work of art that is interesting. Oh, and the plants absolutely marvelous.

We got the place around 14.00 , there was no line in that time. As i understand there are two types of tickets, we chose the exterior part ticket only.
The place is really calming and quiet to walk around and sit to relax between the trees and plants.
Most of the view is trees and plants and less of flowers in the garden(maybe the other ticket is for other kind of flowers and plants but im not sure).
I would recommend come and visit!
I suggest to have around 45 min up to one hour to cover all parts and chill.

A quiet and cool oasis within the city. Many of the paths were closed due to construction, which diminished the experience. There were several, interesting sculpture installations throughout.

A good, nice and quiet walk. Expected a little bit more (compared with other botanical gardens). In summer should be perfect and cool. Would recommend to buy the tickets as a pack with the National Museum Of Science (much cheaper especially for families with kids).

A pleasant walk in the botanical gardens, even in the winter. Next to the natural history museum the pair make a pleasant afternoon. The toilets were however a disgrace and need some attention. (You can use toilets in the museum)

Garden on top of the hill at Principe Real, all sorts of trees, cacti, ponds etc dotted around making lots of shade which is good on hot days. Not the biggest place but it's only €5 to get in.
