Al Veluu Ristorante Suites

Despite hours listed as open until 2pm, the restaurant would not let us sit when we arrive at 1:30pm—would have been nice to know before we made the long journey there. They were rude and it was disappointing they couldn’t let us eat there for lunch.

I usually don't bother to write reviews, but now I have to speak up for others who'd have dinner here.

As many others have written before us in the reviews it's sadly a tourist trap of sort.

Wonderful place, great food but sadly the "offer of the day" and aperitif is way overpriced. 35€ for zucchini flowers as starters and 22€ for a glass of Bellini is a bit far fetched. Just these 3 items were half of the rest of our dinner's bill... Please!

Rest of the prices are okay, but these ones are way beyond reason.

We stayed in a panoramic lake view suite & ate at the restaurant. The view alone would have been worth it but it did not stop there. The owner personally welcomed us into the hotel before going to the local fish market for our fresh dinner that night. We felt as if we were staying at a relatives house with how clean, cozy and homey the suite was with all the amenities of a little apartment. We forewent all our plans to sit on our private balcony and enjoy the view. This was the last leg of our long trip so it even felt nice to make ourselves snacks and tea in the kitchen and enjoy a movie night with their living room Netflix account. Wish we stayed here longer as it was a place we immediately settled in to.

The most stunning view overlooking the lake in a beautiful garden. A lot of the vegetables are grown in their organic garden and fish is locally caught each day.

We celebrated my son's birthday. wanted to order champagne but the waiter forced Bellini on us. he did not warn that one glass of this muddy slurry costs 22 euros. .this is called cheating. the waiter is an obvious charlatan with experience. be careful. value for money does not match. our bill for 4 people is 420 euros. The portions are not big and the taste is mediocre. I do not recommend dining at this restaurant. but of course the view is not bad and the staff is friendly. .

We got married in Varenna and had our wedding reception here 5 years ago. Our guests still rant about how incredible the view, food and staff were. Cannot recommend this place enough. Can’t wait to go back!

We just came from a amazing and very memorable meal, with an unbelievable view and atmosphere. I read many reviews focused on price and service. Let me say the service was excellent, they were accommodating and attentive. As far as price, you are paying for a phenomenal view and atmosphere. It was a perfect night and we had a table with a panoramic view of Lake Como. Tasteful food, a fine bottle of wine and a magical view of Lake Como as the sun set. What more can you ask for.
