From train rides to waterfalls to old shop lots, Jiufen has a mesmerizing old town charm. Cooling weather at night, often bustling with visitors.

One of the place that we had to visit during our stay in Taiwan. There are a lot of people specially tourist. If you knew the anime "Spirited Away" then you will definitely find some resemblance in the area.

The food is not half bad and also very affordable.
There are also a bunch of stuff that you can buy as souvenirs if you roam around.

In my opinion, it is best to visit this place during the night. It really looks like a festival with the lights and lanterns. Definitely a worth of our visit!

One of the best old streets in Taiwan. Their souvenir shops and food are cheaper compared to shilin night market.. Tea houses here are excellent. Also you can find here the oldest cinema house in Taiwan.

This place is insanely packed with tourists, I went on a weekday and it was crazy. It does have a romantic charm to it with the old architecture and lanterns. Go later in the day to enjoy the sunset and watch the lanterns bring the town to life. The shops and restaurants are ok, nothing special. I would rent a cab for a day if you have at least 4 people, so they can take you to the surrounding areas as well.

The Santorini of Taiwan!!! This place is romantic and the atmosphere is mesmerizing especially at night time. A lot of great restaurants and beautiful tea houses. You may sip tea and enjoy the great view and beautiful sunset.

The entire place feels surreal. It is a remnant of the whimsy animation Spirited Away. Jiufen is an immersive alley with the scenic view of the east China sea on the backdrop. It is easily accessible via Train and Buses. Ruifang district is easily accessible from the city:
