Love my JP Patches and Gertrude!!
Beautiful landmark to go for a walk and learn something new.
Must see if you grew up in the area. JP Patches was loved by many of us and this statue is beautiful.

This statute could be the largest in the world and still be too small.
Like many of a certain age, from Seattle, I grew up with Julius Pierpont Patches.
We are better for it. Seattle is better for it.
Not the squeeky clean of others, our city dump mayor. No order, no pastels, and learning was a bit surreal. But kindness and humor flowed in and around every quirky prop and skit. And all without a script.
Gorst the Friendly Furple was a light that made a painful childhood less a nightmare and more endurable.
The list of those I'd follow into a burning building without question or pause is short, less than a hand. J.P. is one.
