Escape to Tranquility at Kains Woods!
Searching for a peaceful retreat? Look no further than Kains Woods, one of the finest wooded areas in London, Ontario. This hidden gem offers a rejuvenating experience for those seeking solace and natural beauty.
To reach Kains Woods, I hopped on the 17 bus from Fanshawe College and rode it all the way to the final stop. It was there that I discovered this enchanting forest nestled in the Riverbend neighborhood.
The trail through the woods alongside the Thames River was simply breathtaking. Stretching over 5.8 kilometers, the path was a delightful stroll that never felt tiresome. What made it even more special were the multiple entrances leading to the riverbank, allowing me to enjoy serene views of the Thames throughout my walk.
For a picturesque experience where the forest gracefully meets the tranquil Thames River, I highly recommend Kains Woods in London. It's the perfect destination for those seeking a stunning blend of natural landscapes and a serene ambiance.

Very nice trail!
This a challenging and gorgeous riverside trail system. The entire loop takes just over one hour to complete. There are continuing improvements with footbridges, boardwalks and handrails being added. Still it is not accessible to those with ambulatory challenges. Many birds species, chipmunks, squirrels, amphibians and deers can be viewed during your hike. Be advised though that their are strenuous climbs and potentially dangerous tree roots, so caution is advised.
A perfect walking path for the family and group of friends! It’s so peaceful and beautiful here!
Beautiful hiking spot. Really felt like a provincial park trail with very few spots where houses were visible. I wish it looped back to avoid hiking through suburbia to get back to our car but otherwise a perfect Sunday afternoon hike.
Loved it. Just make sure you are ok with the weather conditions.
