Restaurante chino Yue Lai

Yue Lai is the best Chinese food place that I’ve tried in Barcelona. The quality is spectacular, every dish is prepared using fresh products and the prices are really affordable. Tip: get there early or book a table because there are always long lines of people waiting.

We went shopping at the Asian market which is located next to the restaurant. So of course we were starving some Asian cuisine and just went in. Didn’t have space inside so we seated outside straightaway. Waiters were nice and fast. Didn’t wait long for the food. The chicken sweet and sour was supposed to be a bit spicy but it wasn’t that spicy. We also had some noodles with veggies and meat nothing special. The portion were quite big so with to plates plus 6 gyozas we were stuffed. With a coke and water spent 30€

Amazing find in Barcelona - really tasty and authentic Chinese cuisine, at great prices and huge portions. Staff is also super friendly!

THIS CHINESE RESTAURANT IS UNDENIABLY A FAVORITE AMONG SPANIARDS. BUT THEREIN LIES THE PROBLEM. WHILE THE MENU AND AROMAS ARE AUTHENTICALLY CHINESE, THE ACTUAL PREPARATION AND TASTE OF THE FOOD LEFT MUCH TO BE DESIRED. FOR INSTANCE, THE MEAT WITH PINEAPPLES WAS MARRED BY AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF VINEGAR, WHICH I FOUND QUITE UNAPPEALING (3/10)

The menu is long but the food is really good, quite authentic. The prices are also very fair for the portions and the ingredients. The service was nice and fast under the circumstances (the restaurant was mega full).
The only negative thing is that it can get really loud, as loud as a bar which makes it a bit chaotic but that is something that of course has nothing to to with the restaurant, just maybe ask for a table outside if you are noise sensitive.

Note: make a reservation in advance because they get very very full at dinner time and without reservation you could be looking at a 30-45 min waiting time.
