The temple I found myself gravitating to the most in Udaipur. There is a beautiful aura permeating through the temple that I sadly couldn’t find elsewhere in Udaipur.

Near to famous Jagdish temple, five temples were built- Mahalaxmi, Hajareshwar Mahadeo, Radha Krishna temple in Jagdish Chowk, Mahadeo temple near Jagdish Chowk and Narbadeshwar temple near Delhi Gate.
Mahalaxmi temple was built by Maharana Shambhu Singh. Priest of the temple Laxmilal Shrimali says that Maharana Shambhu Singh fought a battle and from there he brought three idols of Mahalaxmi, Sundar Vinayak and Rishabhdev.

The temple of Mahalaxmi was built by Jagat Singh. The idol of Rishabhdev was given to the jains and that of Ganesh was installed in Hotel Vinayak for worship by the Maharana himself but later on it came in the possession of Bhatt (Nagda) Samaj.

Holy Hindu Temple. Mahalaxmi Mandir are not many in number, it is among a few Mandir. This temple is ISHT of Shrimali Brahman Samaaj. Built by ancestors of Shrimali s. Nice place. Now also developed for a small get together programs. Most of Shrimalis prefer to organise their small social get together here only.

Walking around the old city, mahalaxmi temple is one of the oldest temple in udaipur. During the deepawali the whole market is decorated with the small and beautiful lights. People wait for darshan in a long ques. Normal days darshan are very easy . Best place.
