Hunterian Museum at the University of Glasgow. It has a wide variety of magnificent items ranging from meteorites to mummies , human anatomy, etc. A good place to gain knowledge about various subjects..

No tickets are needed to enter. But there's probably a guided tour of the place - on an hourly basis or something, not sure. But I believe the guided tour will be informative and would make the visit more enjoyable. We were leaving when it was starting, hence could not take the guided tour.

Remarkable for its Antonine Wall (Roman wall north of the Hadrian...) finds and Midwifery/medical casts, amongst many other things. A good old-fashioned free museum without crowds near characterful University quads.

The Hunterian Museum in Glasgow offers a captivating journey into the rich history of the university and its esteemed faculty. As a student, I found the well-preserved biology exhibits, mummies, and animal skeletons to be truly fascinating. The museum provides a unique insight into the academic legacy of the institution, making it a must-visit for anyone intrigued by the intersection of history and science.

This gem needs to move out from the Kelvingrove's shadow. The building is simply spectacular, and the collection is somehow better. There's sections of a wall built by Romans over 2000 years ago, in the same building as instruments from the Scientific Revolution, and implements from the foundations of modern medicine. It's also far less crowded & noisy than the Art Museum. Go visit!

Hunterian museum is a part of Glasgow university. I love Roman history in Scotland. I've visited all the sites on the antonine wall. The museum hold's a lot of artifacts relating to the wall, through archeological digs. Like distance slabs left by legions. Also weapons , roman shoes, for soldiers women and children. It's a first class museum.

What a wonderful, free day to spend in Glasgow when the weather is good or bad. The museum is the perfect size, and the university has loads of gems for any sightseer.
