Nicest park in the area, they do a good job with the trails and making everything very easy and accessible.
Nice store with lots to look through, and bunch of food stalls when we were there.
Water was pretty brown/yellow but that seems to be standard for the inland area here.

Tahquamenon Falls State Park

Wow. Magnificent Waterfalls. Nice. Simple walk too. Easy.

If you haven't seen Tahquamenon Falls you are missing out!
This is one of the biggest waterfalls in Michigan. Hands down great. Expect to get wet too. The falls is deep, but the surrounding water is OK to dip in.

You will not be disappointed!

This is a peaceful park to camp in. We stayed in the Lower Falls Portage Campground - Site #72 with 30 amp electric only. We love camping at the falls, hiking in the park, visiting the Brew-Pub, touring the town and making an excursion to Whitefish Point. Our site was easy to back in to and was fairly private. The park has changed its check in procedure, however, which - in my opinion - is ridiculous. You have to park your vehicle and come inside to register - even when you are fully paid! Certainly slows things down. Only state park in Michigan that I have experienced this lack of efficiency. Two years ago it wasn't like this here. We do love the new walkway across the river!

Overall, it's a very pretty state park and better than most. For most of the best views in the park you can take paved paths or board walks so most people can access the beauty of this place. There are some more rugged trails as well with the river trail being the best. If you come early you are much more likely to be able to enjoy some areas alone without crowds, but I do mean early. This is definitely a place to see in the UP, you can see it or most of it within a day.

What a gorgeous waterfalls! While you can get some pretty good views from the main trail, you are required to hike down a flight of 90 steps to get to right to the brink of the falls. Well worth it though! We visited on a Saturday afternoon and there were quite a few people there, but not so many that we couldn’t enjoy our visit. Nice parking area with well-maintained and modern restrooms

There are two separate falls areas to see, so there are two parking lots or you can hike a one way trail that a shuttle service can take you back for a fee. Both falls are beautiful. Don't skip either one, they are equally impressive with the different angles to view them. All paved walking paths to viewing areas. Some steps at lower falls. There is a place to get food at the lower falls. There are gift shops at both falls. The roads leading to the falls are very nice. One of the upper peninsula's best waterfalls to experience. I would also recommend Bond falls and the several falls around the pictured rocks area (Munising, MI).

Beautiful place to visit! We visited the lower falls and we're very pleased with the views. The lower falls does have a boardwalk and is handicap accessible. At least up to the bridge, I didn't go past that. There are also very nice public restrooms available as well. I highly recommend visiting this and having lots of time to enjoy it. Also bring your camera!
