This course is always in great shape. It is a very playable course for beginners, and the front 9 holes are fairly open. The only issue I have is there is not a large variety of holes, most of them are very straight and unmemorable.
This was a nice course, I can’t rate it properly because one of the players in our foursome kept talking and yelling to his friend/partner. I don’t expect people to be silent but this person ruined my round, he talked so much and so loudly that I had to plug my ears and hum to myself in order to focus. It’s fine when playing with friends but I think people need more self awareness when playing with two strangers. I’d like to try this course again under different circumstances.
I played Wintonbury on Labor Day 2023, and the course was perfect. Beautiful tee boxes and fairways, with quick, pure greens. The rough around the greens was penal, but that's golf. I hadn't played Wintonbury since 2014, but will be back soon. I had a great experience.
This place is phenomenal. Greens are challenging, but that is what you want. Fairways are beautiful. Don't let the first impression trick you. This place is tricky and worth the $
Absolutely one of the top courses overall in Central Connecticut; great conditions, terrific design, challenging yet fair with wide fairways and lay-up options. Just a super fun golf course to play. Staff is also super friendly and attentive. Can't wait to go back.
Great Pete Dye course in great condition! The on course and clubhouse staff was AWESOME as well today! Expensive by CT standards, but in golf destination states this course would have a greens fee twice what it is
