Thai Basil

I think the Health Division for the city of Boston really need to get called on these people as many of the reviews have something in common: the old lady that is constantly and aggressively hovering over patrons for more tip.

This restaurant is not a staple in the community! They are real life bullies! They should learn to treat people better and realize that there are people that understand what they're saying when they are muttering amongst each other about whether groups of people will tip. It is quite discriminatory.

I also find it appalling that the old lady kept asking what we were going to tip when we wanted to split the bill during lunch. Some had cash, others had card. She said she couldn't do cash and the rest on card because tip needed to be in cash only. That's fine if that was an actual house rule for them. Where is the sign that says so? The worst part is I pay with a card and tip with a card every time I go for lunch and I've been there a handful of times. I've seen the other reviews about this place but wanted to give them a chance. It backfired.

It's shady business and tbh, it makes the Southeast Asian community look real bad. Save your hard earned money and find another Thai business that deserves your time.

EXCELLENT THAI FOOD!!! Drunken noodles were great! Authentic Thai cuisine.

Delightful bright service and sumptious yellow curry were highlights of a recent night out on Newbury St. The takeout area was thriving and well-organized. The dining room was packed with satisfied customers. Everyone seemed to be in a good mood. I walked out well-prepared for a brisk evening stroll.

Since I came before 3 pm, I was able to order their lunch special. I ordered chicken pad Thai with complimentary pork dumplings (or spring rolls). My party members did not order the lunch special but enjoyed their soup, rice, and chicken curry. Good service, but then again we did not come at a busy time so we had a table ready. The atmosphere is nice, and the facts on the wall of different cooking ingredients and their uses is a nice touch.

The red curry was a little dry for our taste, a little more sauce would have been nice. The crispy Pad Thai with peanut sauce was good. The prices were fair, especially considering the place is on Newbury Street.

Food is fine but service is nice. The music choices could definitely be better. I have never heard so many slowed down, acoustic mixes in my life.

The appetizers: crab rangoon, chicken wings, and golden tofu, were all decent. The tofu was a little bit dry and would have been better with large pieces that wouldn't have dried out as much when fried.

The Sriracha Bay Shore had a good amount of seafood but the sauce was unintelligible, im not sure where the Sriracha part in the name comes in. The Mandalay noodle soup was apparently quite heavy due to its creaminess but still received positive feedback.

The best Thai food restaurant! The lady from the hotel recommended this place and it was absolutely delicious! The flavor and spice levels were perfect! You have to go down quite a few steps to get to the restaurant, they have plenty of seating and the decor is very nice, the staff was friendly and helpful, very good menu with a lot of Vegetarian options and the food came out quickly and fresh!
We really enjoyed the food, we highly recommend this place!
