Stepping through the doors of the cathedral, visitors are transported into a world of tranquility and spiritual contemplation. The church's elegant interior, adorned with ornate frescoes and stained glass windows, offers a peaceful refuge from the hustle and bustle of the surrounding city.

Beyond its architectural charm, the Cathedral holds a rich historical significance, serving as a testament to Istanbul's diverse cultural heritage. As one of the city's oldest Roman Catholic churches, it stands as a symbol of tolerance and coexistence, welcoming worshippers of all backgrounds to come together in prayer and reflection.

There is an ancient, historical, and artistically beautiful church in Istanbul that exudes a deeply spiritual atmosphere. When you step inside, you immediately feel a sense of relaxation and tranquility, as if you want to sit down and simply soak in the surroundings. Every inch of this church is filled with ancient artifacts and artwork, allowing you to truly appreciate the history and the journey it has endured over time. It's a place that makes you wish you had more time to explore and visit other churches in Istanbul, as they surely hold their own unique beauty and stories to tell.

Belle église à visiter lors d'une visite à Istanbul .

History: The church's history dates back to the 17th century when it was built by the Italian congregation of the Order of the Most Holy Savior, also known as the Brigittines. The Brigittines were a Catholic religious order, and the church was established to serve the Italian community in Istanbul.

Location: The Santa Maria Draperis Church is situated in the district of Beyoğlu, not far from the Galata Tower and İstiklal Avenue. Its central location made it accessible to both local Catholics and foreign visitors.

Architecture: The church features a Baroque architectural style with elegant decorations and design elements typical of that era. Its façade is notable for its ornate details and statues.

Saint Mary Draperis is a Roman Catholic Church in Istanbul, very important for historical reasons. Established in 1584, the church is one of the most ancient Roman Catholic parishes of Istanbul.

This historic church makes you feel ancient and takes you on a journey to the Middle Ages, i recommend everyone to visit 😍✝️

Accidentally walked in on a rainy day and it was definitely worth it. There was a chore repping there and we just set down for half an hour just listening.

The atmosphere here is very calm and relaxing if you could say so. Very old church that is definitely worth visiting.
