On the positive side: the supermarket offers a very good selection of products and it is also big enough so that shopping is comfortable. Staff is mostly friendly.
Depending on what card you have, you can also pay by card (V-pay goes without problems).
There are, however, some recurrent problems that are really not cool. There are quite a few dubious "beggars" loitering around the store and vexing customers on entering. Even worse is that they are apparently prone to enter the store and leave without paying. The result: the likelihood that ordinary customers get random checks at the self-service cashier desks is much higher here than in any other AH I know - very annoying when a staff member comes to scan all your 20+ items that you have meticulously packed in.
If all that were not enough, the pigeons living in the area can apparently also make their way into the shop and start eating whatever they find on the floor - this is disgusting and worryingly unhygienic!

Good selection of items and helpful staff but this particular branch of AH does not take credit cards.
First day in amsterdam as a tourist, filled up a cart with essentials, scanned everything at the self serve then found out they don't accept Visa or Mastercard, in 2023. I thought I was being punked
They sell expired scratch tickets! Then should you win, they deny the payment of the winning because tickets are expired. Lucky enough after long discussion they refunded me the ticket value. Still be aware to check the date on the items here!
A popular supermarket chain in the Netherlands that carries items satisfying people's daily needs. Quality and prices seemed okay but nothing special.
They have introduced the self checking out arrangement but the system is yet to be perfected. I bought 3 fruit cups that were supposed to be 5 euros and the original price was 2 euros each. The machine was not able to recognize the discount and I didn't want the trouble to carry all my other purchases to the cashier counter and thus paid the original price as a result.

Best supermarket around. hot coffee with different variety. daily grossery shop. fresh and best quality. Its got expanded with self service scan counters so more faster and beter shopping experience. Ciggerates and tobacco products are no more being sold.
