The loop took us approximately 1 1/2 hours to complete. We began our journey by heading counterclockwise, first reaching the Fifth Lake. The trail posed a moderate challenge, initiating with a steep ascent followed by navigating through a valley and over a ridge before descending into the Valley of Five Lakes. Initially, the trail was well-maintained, but as we progressed, it became rockier with numerous tree roots protruding. Given its popularity, we encountered many other hikers along the way. A highlight was discovering a pair of red Adirondack chairs situated between the Fourth and Third lakes, offering a delightful spot to unwind and soak in the scenery.

The walk only becomes interesting once you arrive at the first lake. The path is narrow but good. Sometimes close to the lakes, sometimes a bit higher up. What makes it beautiful is the green-blue color of the lakes and the fact that you have a view on the surrounding mountains. The walk is fairly easy (162 meters elevation gain - 4,5 km)

Beautiful moderate hike. Around 4km and 150m ascent. Worth the hike with the beautiful 5 lakes.

Went hiking there a few weeks ago, I have to say, this is breathtaking! The water was clean and swimmable in! The hiking trails were pretty good during dry days, but I could imagine during rainy days that it would be rough!

It's free to hike around there, there’s ample parking, map, and directions!

Recommended to ensure bring bear spray, tons of water, and bug spray for safety.

A beautiful track about 5 km long that passes between five beautiful and clear lakes. The route is not difficult except for a few sections where you have to climb a bit. To get to the entrance to the track, drive from Jasper on the Glacier Highway (Route 93) towards Lake Louise, one km after the entrance gate of Jasper Park you will pass a bridge and about half a km after it will be the parking lot from where the track will start. Lakes 3,4,5 are more beautiful in my opinion and it is worth spending more time in them, therefore, we followed the route in the opposite direction and devoted more time at the beginning to these lakes. All the lakes are beautiful and well worth doing the route.

We hiked the longer loop, going entirely around all of the lakes, and the outside of lake one. It was approximately 9 kms. A stunningly beautiful hike with views of all the turquoise coloured lakes. We did it in early October with absolutely perfect fall weather! I highly recommend this moderately easy hike. It’s close to Jasper townsite, with lots of parking, toilets at the trailhead, and well marked trails.
