Informal, easy going, all worked perfectly together for a casual dinner. Good timing. Facility also seamless (we sat outside). Prices are not low, but well worth the experience. Great choice: home-made ham from the butcher, with creamy horseraddish and bread. Wonderful Pilsner Urquell beer from the tank. Recommended!
This is what the modern Czech dining experience should be. Traditional Czech classics done simply and cooked well. No need to be fancy, just cook it well and serve it with a smile.
The beef soup was perhaps the best I’ve had in country. Deep flavour, a caramel note coming from proper searing or roasting of the beef and, a rare but welcome bonus (internationally), well seasoned.
The beer was cold, the sausages were sausage-y and came with fresh grated horseradish (as essential addition).
Great food, cool decor, lovely servers. Come here if you want real Czech food without the cellar and grumpy host.

The new LOW of my Czech life 🤗 and I’ve lived here few years, this is a huge compliment.
(Just to be fair, I’m leaving what I do think is good about this place at the final part. But first I explain the reasoning behind the one star.)

One particular male server was downright rude to us, if not racist as we are Asians, but I don’t want to assume so.
Everything started when we asked him for a list of our orders when we’re about to pay. We have previously ordered a cappuccino, but it never came to the table, and we wanted to check if it’s included in the bill. He told us that we need to first pay, then the list will be printed. So we paid without the tip, in order to check if we’re being charged the right amount. And then we can sort out the tip later.
However, he just printed the bill and list of orders and said: no tips included! And made a sound of I dunno, disdain? and then he just left. (I guess he thought that we suspect he overcharged us with tip, thus the comment. And is obviously not the case, we wanted to tip!)
When we confronted the fact that they overcharged us a cappuccino, he was so professional to took out some coins (consisted of 2, 10, 20 crowns, basically, TIPS HE’S RECEIVED FROM OTHER CUSTOMERS) and threw them on our table. 🤗
I do want to clarify that the food was okayish, the environment is great, and the rest of the team are fine and sometimes friendly. It’s the disrespectful behavior of this one server that completely outraged us. And the fact that the management allows this kind of person to work in hospitality in a UNESCO town - one star (or less if I can) would do.

Very nice location, the decor is awseome, with a very nice outdoor soace. Staff very professional and friendly, great beers and food.
The place and the atmosphere of the place is nice. I went with my family and found particularly good that they have a space for kids to play. Definitely a plus for me or any parent. Food is not great but good. We had beef goulash, gnocchi a small beer and a lemonade for 567 crowns. They have a menu in English and the waitress also spoke English to us.
Revisited this place in 2023 after 2016. The place has changed a bit, portions reduced. But the flavors are still promising & Depo lives up to its reputation. Went back for the Grilled Trout Fish served with grilled vegetables. The menu is low on vegetarian/vegan choices. But their pickled cheese is an absolute memorable. Best to visit in summer when the fish is fresh & outdoor seating is available.
Loved the ambience, very rustic feel. Food portions were big and the price reasonable. Great view if you sit by the windows. Our waiter was very friendly
