We took a middle of the week getaway with friends and had a wonderful time. My husband and I stayed in the Cottonwood suite, and it did not disappoint. Watching the wildlife right outside our windows was an added bonus as well as sitting around the fire pit in the evenings. We explored the trails on the property as I love to hike. The Willis Prarie had the most spectacular views. Just a short drive to Manhattan allowed us to experience some of the local restaurants and businesses, too. We will definitely be back!

We held our wedding at Prairiewood and took advantage of the destination package. We thankfully were able to reserve the majority of the Prairiewood lodges for our weekend for a select group of guests, all of which had a wonderful time.

We chose the Cottonwood Suite at HomePlace for ourselves and we are so glad we did. It offered such a comfortable and quiet retreat from much of our wedding weekend madness, and the convenient proximity to both StoneHouse (ceremony) and Blue Sage Barn (reception) made things super easy for us.

What a beautiful, quiet place to get away. We were looking for a small "getaway" to rest, reset and recharge. The rooms are beautiful and clean. They had lovely, small touches in the room. The scenery was stunning. We will definitely be back!

We booked the Cottonwood Suite at Homeplace for our wedding and are so happy we chose to stay there. The room is gorgeous and the amenities were a huge plus. The bed was super comfortable, the heated bathroom floors felt amazing, the jacuzzi tub was so relaxing, and the setting of the suite couldn't have been more perfect. From our room, we enjoyed watching woodpeckers, cardinals, a turkey, and the friendly cat patrolling the property. We took bridal party pictures there and I know they will come out beautiful. Being about a quarter of a mile away from our wedding venue was so convenient. We already want to stay again the next time we are in manhattan.

Perfect peaceful serenity in the prairie. We stayed in the Cottonwood suite one night but I wish it had been longer. We loved this secluded retreat! The lovely hosts have thought of everything and then stepped it up a notch in luxury - heated bathroom floors, mini ice maker, beautiful large window views to the wildlife and that tub!! I was impressed to see a filtered water pitcher, wine glasses, corkscrew, 2 place settings, AND a small pitcher of cream for the in-room coffee. Food can be delivered directly to the door, so if we never wanted to leave the suite or grounds, we wouldn't have to. Highly recommend this gem of a getaway just the outside of Manhattan.

If you're looking for a tucked away experience that also has easy access to town, this is the place for you!! My husband and I stayed at Prairewood Willow Suite for a couple days to celebrate the upcoming birth of our first baby and to get some quality time together before the demands of parenthood make that more difficult. We had orginally planned on doing more activites in town, but when we arrived, we loved the place so much that we changed our plans and spent the majority of our time on the property, hiking the trails, paddling down the river in one of the canoes, and simply enjoying the comforts our suite had to offer! I personally loved watching all the birds at the feeders just outside our window, relaxing by the firepit in the morning, and lazing in the hammock with my husband. The location felt so remote and refreshing, and yet anything we might need was only ten to fifteen minutes away. Our host was very friendly and helpful; the room was clean and organized, as well as tastefully designed and decorated; the bed was quite comfortable; the coffee bar was well stocked with delicious snacks, coffee, tea, and cocoa (not to mention the added benefits of a microwave and a mini fridge); and the bath was nothing short of luxurious! All in all, we had a very lovely stay, and I would highly recommend this suite to anyone looking to get away for a little while, whether you consider yourself to be an outdoorsy person or not!

My boyfriend and I enjoyed this lovely suite for my birthday. The hosts had phenomenal communication and were very welcoming! The suite was immaculately clean. The fresh cookies were a sweet touch! Despite the temperature we enjoyed a stroll on the kayaks down the creek. The silence was lovely. We enjoyed the walking trails as we watched the sunset. We loved the winery a mile up the dirt road. We enjoyed the outside firepit as we gazed the stars. We will definitely return come spring or summer!
