I’m a ex customer here, and I’ve been asking the staff to set up an appointment for me to seek someone to speak with. It’s now the ending of January 2023, and I’ve been asking since October 2022 to set up an Appointment, only for the lady to keep asking me what I need and she was going to help me to no avail . when I was 1st seeking services, I have yet to speak to , nor see anyone. I went with another agency who I signed up with , and spoke to someone the next very day. It’s crazy you have people out here who are mentally suffering, only for some of the agencies who aren’t doing their job to help those who are suffering mentally. If I can give this agency a 1 star , that’s what this place deserves. They don’t help at all. Only fake promises.

Terrible! These doctors and their undereducated staff all need to be under investigation with how they handle confidentiality, paperwork, and the patients! Shut this place down.

You will be under or over medicated and totally out of the know of your own treatment! I've cursed them out a few times how they would treat me like I'm one of the "crazies"... how will you know how to treat me if you don't ask??? Smfh..Healthcare has really gone down the drains....

This organization will only make your mental health worse! None of them are on the same page!

City care do not need to be in a black community. Their service is fraud and the doctors don’t know what they’re doing . The staff care more than the doctors. Pay the staff kore doctors less

Citicare has a great staff. During the time covid-19 if you need mental help this is a great service to call. The staff is kind and they are good listeners and will help you with whatever you need.

I agree, that this agency is only concerned with money. Dr. John Syphax was more concerned with the "proper paperwork for payment" than seeing clients. Dr. Syphax admitted that his "main job is with Amazing Love Health Services", which is why he is not interested, motivated or inclined to help patients at City Care.
There are some people who are helpful, unfortunately they are not the clinical staff. The nurse yelling loudly how she WAS NOT going to help people is unprofessional and inappropriate. I will file a formal grievance with Department of Behavioral Health.

This program is all about money. Most of the staff is underperforming in their roles. For instance they have CSW home visitors that introduce themselves and then stop contacting you. I have had many reassignments. What's worse is when I ask them individually what support they actually offer they don't seem to know. However, many have been caught writing in to have made visits that they did not make and get caught when they state something that is blatantly false. I'm going to leave you guessing on what people expect grown Black women in therapy to have going on at home.
Also, the psychiatrist I met with is interested only in drugging people. He wasn't at all interested in what has and has not worked that isn't a strain on the liver and kidneys as prescription medicines all are. This office is the initial point of contact. It seems to be the main office. However, if you want therapy they have not invested in finding nor financing a decent therapist. They just so happened to get a great one that I have been seeing but they aren't paying this person rightfully and this government financed organization has even convinced them that they aren't well paid enough to provide better. So they are there out of altruism...
There is so much more wrong with this place. As a person dealing with trauma I find myself being triggered often by the environment this establishment has created. They initially hand you forms offering all of these great services, but I have found out that they are obligated to for that reliable government payout. That is why they don't actually PROVIDE these services. They claim to serve food, but have catering for staff, but don't accommodate special dietary restrictions for clients. So if you can't eat their dollar store hot dogs, there is no food for you.
If it wasn't for the therapist, I would not have continued with this organization and would have already called DBH about the lack of services. Most of which I have not mentioned here. For me the last straw is having me sign a contract in the midst of rushing me out of the location, immediately following my therapy session. It's totally inappropriate practice. They did not divulge any information from the contract. After my therapy sessions I am not good for making decisions. I'm best going right to bed, done for the day. I remember the form that requested I sign from the initial contract. It is something that they are supposed to go over with me. They did not do that at all. It's stated on that form that this is an agreement between us. They instead told me that we have to cut off everything if I don't sign the forms.
This organization treats it's clients badly and most don't complain because all they want are drugs. Many aren't actually interested in doing the hard work of self improvement. Maybe more would be if they were actually offered the support this organization claimed to offer in the contract though. Work placement assistance... Haa!
The underserved communities these organizations target are used to such programs that instead of actually serving their best interest, undercut them, and further feed the trauma cycles that they are already subjected to. This place is staffed with people who either aren't properly trained and should not be anywhere near this vulnerable population or are just trying get a paycheck for as little effort as possible. It's exploitation and it's all so demoralising.
