Very good art show casing local artists
The best variety of art in Wichita. Each time I've gone there's been at least one or two exceptional pieces and one or two memorable new artists.
I worked in side this building in the late 70s when it was "the Looking Glass" It was such a great time for me to be a teen and I met such an array of people including the owner Rich and his wife Bob Dole and his wife the Kochs all this impressed me including all my wonderful co workers and effected my life .I even saved the building from burning down when a small kitchen fire was starting to spread .my co workers said "get away" "let`s go outside" but I put the fire out before the fire dept showed up. I wish I could go back in time .I think if I ever visit Witchita I will visit this building .
Wonderful 2d and 3d art by various artists. The artwork rotates often.
An amazing place to stop by for incredible artwork. It’s even better on the first Friday of every month.
Walked up on first Friday. Albeit a few minutes before close. Probably 10 other patrons inside. Started to open the door- woman waved hello(or I guess goodbye), turned out the entry light, locked the front door and walked away.
Not very friendly. I said Hello and the woman greeter kind of heavy set lady turned her nose up at me and gave me a dirty look as if I did not belong. I went in to see my uncle's Art work, and to think I was so excited about buying A Doug Billings piece....after not being greeted, and no one assisted, I left with no desire for my purchase. Next time minorities walk I to your establishment, try NOT to expose your judgement.
Good day.
