The gentlemen taking payments is super nice, but the boys that help you into the boats are kind of rude. Make sure you have some knowledge of rowing because the paddles they give you are really short and small. It makes rowing difficult. It was an ok experience. I likely won’t go again.

Definitely our favorite thing from the trip to NYC. This was such a great way to relax, and just spend time as a family while in Central Park. You get some amazing views of Bow Bridge and the Bethesda Fountain and stunning views of the skyline. Definitely worth the charge for an hour of rowing.

Row Boat Rental in Central Park offers a magical experience with its boat rentals that extend until sundown. Despite the long 2-hour wait, the romantic boat ride is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Maneuvering the paddle requires minimal skills, allowing you to explore the lake. The panoramic view of New York from the water is breathtaking. While the boats show signs of aging and could use renewal, the overall experience is undeniably worthwhile.

Wonderful experience with great views of Billionaires Row! The line took 15-30 minutes, but it was definitely worth it.

I recently had the opportunity to rent a rowboat at Central Park in New York, and I can honestly say it was a magical experience that I wouldn't trade for anything. First off, the price point is incredibly reasonable; we paid only $22 for the boat rental (2 people). You can row for up to an hour which is plenty of time to enjoy The Lake, also they don't really check how long you're staying on the water.

Contrary to some of the lower reviews I've seen, my experience with the check-in process was seamless and efficient. Perhaps it helped that we went on a Thursday midday when it wasn't so busy, but even so, the staff were incredibly helpful. It took us a mere 5 minutes to check in and get on the boat—no reservation required.

The staff are super chill, essentially allowing you to make the experience your own. Once on the water, not only do you get to revel in the scenic beauty Central Park has to offer, but you're also in for a treat with some adorable turtle sightings.

I feel that the lower reviews don't accurately reflect how this place functions. It's an absolutely charming and efficient operation that provides a must-do experience in New York City. The serenity of rowing on the lake juxtaposed against the bustling city backdrop is genuinely surreal.

If you're contemplating whether or not to do this, don't hesitate—it's a magical experience that you won't want to miss!

Love this rowboat in Central Park. Its absolutely perfect for a date, with friends or even alone. For 25 dollars, you can an hour (or even more than that, they don't really hassle you), can see some turtles, ducks, geese and potentially other wildlife. Its a great size so you can definitely make the rowboat count within that hour and then some.

If you're sensitive to the sun or simply can't handle being in the sun for a long time, take that into consideration. There's not that much shade and if its sunny and hot you WILL feel it. So take precaution.

The staff are always very friendly from my experience and always great.

The lines can be long but never feel like you're on them forever. I've waited no more than maybe 20 minutes.

If you're in Central Park and consider doing something fun/romantic then I HIGHLY recommend these row boats. I've been doing this for years and always return at least twice a year.

Overpriced, did not get the change back. We really wonder why they make us wait so long whereas there are only few boats on the lake.
It was crazy raining for few minutes during our tour, every boats were trying to hide under the bridge, so fun!
Really worth to do!
