Washington Union Station

Beautiful and convenient train stations for travelers. Amazing architecture almost makes it a tourist attraction. It is the origin of the northeast regional route and about 10-15 minutes’ walk to the US Capitol. If you travel from New York or Boston to DC, taking an Amtrak train to Union Station is a good choice.
Homeless people may gather outside the main entrance. You should be more careful.

Washington Union Station is the main train station in DC there is Amtrak, Acela, MARC and the DC Metro. The station has a nice food court and the architecture is very nice but the area when you are waiting for your train is very outdated. And the lines to wait for Amtrak boarding is ridiculous.

Place extemely clean and organized. Pride point of this fine city.

Beautiful place,
huge, lot of marble inside,
huuuge colons outside,
and direct view to the Capitol Hill.
There are some stores, juice bars, bputiques etc... inside...
Come and see it, you wont regret.

Very impressive architecture inside and outside of this station. Just wished there were more food options in the food court area that weren’t fast food eateries and the waiting areas had more comfortable seating and the renovation work was finished and bigger elevators to lower level and from the departure areas to the train platforms and the elevator buttons had a directory

Worst security and the security cameras don't work. I'm in the waiting area for bus passengers, waiting for a very delayed bus (Bus was scheduled for 630am, was delayed until 11am), nodded off, and the guy that was "sleep" (Security should have made him get up) next to me walked off with my back pack that was right on my feet. My work materials, personal information, important identifying documents, etc, gone! They said the "Cameras couldn't pull it up." Worst bus station I've ever been to. Cameras are just for show, they don't actually work. I won't be back. Security is looking around, but not in the waiting area. Poor people ride the bus. We aren't important.

Had a nice time here. Saw an informational plaque.

Be warned though, most of the outlets in the seating area and upper level are locked. If you're lucky you might find one that didn't get locked.

Bathrooms were a little dirty (probably from the sheer volume of people using them), and the stall door I used wouldn't close. I had to use my suitcase to keep it closed.

There are some stores in here, and a shoe shining station, but things in the stores are extremely overpriced, not sure if that's a fault of the station itself though.

Saw some pigeons inside too that looked comfortable. Some pipes on the ceiling were discolored from their poop though.
