De Zwarte Madonna Restaurant Vaals

Not your all day typical setting with a lot of church related items (without it being in your face all the time). Personnel is friendly and 'dutch direct' in a pleasant way. Food is what you would expect from the average Dutch restaurant but taste pretty good. Prices are on par with other restaurants. Although being a feature in the restaurant, the chairs are not that comfortable. When you are big or have trouble sitting up straight or on wood for 1-2 hours, then I would not advice a visit.

A unique view on religious ornaments gives this place a special ambiance to enjoy your refreshments or meals.

We(6 pax) reserved the two course menu with a map for a walk through the beautiful forest of Vaals. Price is € 11,90 drinks excluded. You can have it at once but there is also a possibility to have coffee with a pie or soup first and come back later after the walk for the main course. You can choose from 4 different dish.
The restaurant is decorated with lots of religious ornaments and statues. Food is good and very affordable. Staff are attentive and very friendly.

Hopefully you are not so attached to another religion because everywhere in this room you are reminded of Rome, the pope and catholic faith. The service is ok, the food too. But nothing much to write home about not are they try to be. Nice outdoor space and quite. Nothing to complain about

Perfect for enjoying the afternoon surrounded by the garden

Nice place for a (very friendly priced) coffee and some cake. Has a small statue garden with Saint statues. Also, they have EXTENSIVE knowledge on all things saintly, just in case you want to know more about one.
