Kume

Food was great. Enjoyed the soup, salad and Sushi Trio. However we did not take into account the mushrooms in the chicken dish that my girlfriend ordered. She’s allergic and we’re generally pretty good at spotting mushroom dishes on menus. This time they’re a simple mistake. We waved down the 14/15? year old boy that is there, who I believe is the owners son. We showed him the mushrooms and asked if he could get us a waiter. I was totally prepared to pay for another dish, but thankfully they did cook up another without the mushrooms at no extra cost. It could stopped there. However your son decided he wanted to come back to our table and give us grief over the mushrooms. He point blank argued with me and my girlfriend about the menus saying there were mushrooms in the dish. It was absolutely ridiculous and uncalled for. If you think having your son there arguing with your customers is good practice, think again. I’d personally find another restaurant to go to if you want better customer service. I truly never thought I’d have to argue with a 15 year old child at a restaurant.

Went here by myself for lunch and sat at the sushi counter. I wish I had a bigger appetite because there were several things I saw that caught my eye. The sushi chef was very friendly and the service was quick. I will definitely be stopping by any time I'm in Augusta.

We visited Kume on our way back from Acadia, and were a bit disappointed to be honest. Our waiter was extremely helpful and nice, but the food took an hour to come out. I understand staffing issues, but we were waiting for a very long time.

When the food actually came out, the chicken, rice, and everything except the veggies were perfect. The vegetables tasted good, but were very cold. I was so hungry I ate it anyway.

In terms of atmosphere, we couldn’t go 15 minutes without the strobing lights and a techno birthday song. I hope there is a warning on the door for people with seizure disorders, but I did not see one. If I’d been aware of this aspect of the restaurant I wouldn’t have chosen to eat here.

Again, I am not harshing on our waitstaff. They were kind and helpful, but there should have been a cap on the number of people eating if the food was going to take that long.

Payed less here per person than I did at the Great Wall buffet.

Food is fantastic, we did the steak with rice Hibachi. Only $23! Fantastic quality rice, steak, veggies.

Love the atmosphere. Low volume music, but not too quite. Lighting was very nice, nice color changing lights on the walls. Calm environment.

The teppanyaki chef was very good. Gave a good show and cooked the food to our specifications.

The soup and salad that you get before your meal is delicious, a real treat.

Great for the family, and very affordable with high quality food.

Our dinner was good. We ordered some sushi rolls and asked them for a side of ginger. They charged us 3 dollars for a side of ginger 🫚. Salmon avocado roll was ok but not the best. The place is too pricey.

Had a wonderful lunch with my daughter on her birthday today at Kume. We sat at the sushi bar and watched them prepare our food. Everything was fresh and fantastic! When they found out it was her birthday they brought her some tempura ice cream and sang Happy Birthday! Excellent food and a very pleasant staff! My daughter loved the huge aquarium, 5 stars!

Wonderful family dining experience. Super clean establishment with friendly and attentive wait staff. If loud noises bother you, maybe bring some ear plugs because this place's volume is set to 10.
