This is a good station but there are no free transfer for the 1 train. We went to Uncommons Cafe for a board games store and took a little longer to get their.
There is a steaming dump on the stairs of the downtown kings st station almost EVERY DAY.
Beautiful tilework in this station. Heading south, most passengers switch from express to local train at 14th and ride 2 stops to Houston. Most passengers get off here in the morning for work yet the ticket machines are not properly registering touch commands and other issues. No attendant at this stop either.
The card refill machine wound not accept any of my credit cards, and I couldn’t refill my ticket. Mta was also using local trains as an express creating confusion and delays.
the subway is the bane of NYC. How far it has fallen, just read the nytimes. having said that, one extra star for being better than sitting in street traffic
Houston Street is a slow station situated in the Lower West Side. This station is served by the 1 train at all times, the 2 during nights and disruptions and the 3 during disruptions. The station has the slow platforms rising from the the express tracks giving it a interesting feel. The station is great, I've never had any problems with it.
An average NYC subway stop in terms of cleanliness, quality. NOTE: The info provided as of 04/05/2018 indicates that the 2 train stops here. Wrong. It does not. Ever. This is a local stop on the 1 line. And expect to see several express trains zip by while you wait for the local train that almost never runs as frequently as the MTA says.
