The Meadows

Adjacent to Donaldson Park and along the Raritan river, the Meadows is a small section of woods with a well marked hiking trail. It's a nice place to take a stroll. We saw quite a few deer along the way.

An easy, pleasant walk through the woods along the river. Right next to Donaldson Park, you can access the trail there or there’s a small outlet at a nearby apartment complex. There is often a group of deer that can be spotted. A good spot to clear your head.

A pleasant patch of wilderness, tended by local volunteers. It is an easy loop trail through the woods to the Raritan River with boardwalks in places. Good for a short walk or run with nice paths wide enough for a stroller. With nearby Donaldson Park, worth a visit.

Great place to take walk. Bring bug spray during appropriate season.

Had trail to myself & the deer this morning! Loved seeing all the different plants and flowers...was a nice, quiet stroll. I took my time and did 2 laps, I managed to stretch it into 1.5-2hr nature walk. The deer here are curious, but not too keen on getting close, so I'm glad they're still semi-wild. There are a couple benches set up on the trail, maybe 3 or 4. And the only trash I really noticed was by the river's edge...it must have been brought in on a higher side, today was an abnormally low tide. Glad to see most of the trash in a previous review (5 months ago) seems to be mostly gone.
If you go, try to bring a bag to pick up a couple things on your way out and make it nicer for the next person. 🥰🌿
