La Palapa Restuarante

We were about to order when we noticed the cook chopping vegetables on a cutting board covered with flies. He then proceed to leave the vegetables on said cutting board and flies immediately covered the vegetables which were then served on someone else’s plate. Avoid this place.

Most of our group enjoyed the food, just disappointed there was an issue with the order. They forgot to bring us one fried fish which they tried to rush but was brought to us undercooked.

Ordered guacamole it came with 6 chips only and no flavor the shrimp ceviche was good , service was ok the waiter looked unhappy I was there, I even joked with him if he was mad while he was taking my order .I tipped my cook because the ceviche was good I was expecting something awful since the guacamole was bad but it was made by the waiter . Overall it’s ok , I can see why it’s for sale …

I have to be honest I come down here a few times a year for work and these guys are awesome and very very nice but without air conditioning and a cooler full of limited supplies my meal today was not good, I had beef tacos and the beef was chopped up a little square chunks of beef and the refried beans were runny but it was almost a hundred degrees out, it was really not a good experience but it wasn't their fault for very hot weather I should have picked someplace that was air conditioned

We were not told the place was cash only before ordering (it supposedly has card payments available but not the day my family went in).
The food was tasty and the servings were quite generous, but several items that the place is known for were out of season, so watch out for that.

Servings were good sized but we didn’t get the flavor we expected.

Tortilla soup was a good thick tomato soup with cheese and tortilla but no Mexican flavors . Good just not what we expected.

Cocktails were ok, not sweet nor any spice. Shrimp had little flavor - previously frozen. Octopus was tender.

Chicken had no flavor, as if it was boiled. Lots of food in chicken flautes plate but overall bland.
Beef taco (especiale) was very salty with the rest of flavor from the cheese.
Salsas were all very mild.

Best restaurant we went to in Loreto. Fish tacos, fish filet, fish soup were all amaizing. Cheese enchiladas were delicious too. They start you out with a bowl of chips and several salsas. The atmosphere - inside a giant palapa - is perfect for authentic Mexican food.
