Cancino

I normally don’t write negative reviews but my partner and I were so surprised by how bad the food was that I have to warn others. :( Reeled in by the pretty atmosphere and beautiful outdoor seating, we always noticed that Cancino was crowded almost every day.

We decided to try it on our last night in CDMX. We ordered the huitlacoche pizza, truffle fries, and mushroom gnocchi. Boy oh boy. The truffle fries were the only redeeming entree. The pizza was so undercooked that the dough was overly chewy and cheese had no char to it. Then the gnocchi came. The dish was served at room temperature and the gnocchi was incredibly hard.

I didn’t even take any photos because we were so underwhelmed and disappointed.

Absolutely one of the best pizzas I’ve had. We ordered Margarita pizza for delivery. It was fresh, cheesy, full of flavors and had thin crust. Nicely done!

We didn't have food here. Only drinks but it's the nicest patio with all the trees right in the middle of the city - so serene. There was also a keyboard there. It's some music as well. The service was a bit slow but the drinks were tasty.

Been here twice in 2 weeks. I love the pizza but second time ordered non pizza. Absolutely amazing across the board. Quinoa salad and chicken plate. Went on a Monday night National holiday. Still packed.

Everything about this place was great. Nice music at a talkable volume, friendly staff and waiters, nice atmosphere in Plaza Madrid. We had pizzas, diavola and rustica, and the crusts were incredibly light and crunchy. No skimping on toppings and didn’t overdue the cheese. We had one of the best Caesar salad’s that we’ve ever had. We will definitely go back.

We just finished eating here and I cannot recommend this place.
The food overall was ok but the service was horrendous!
We had fried calamari to start and they were ok. Nothing good, nothing bad. Then we ordered two pizzas and waited.
Eventually one pizza came out and the other one never did. Pizza was pancetta with maple syrup which we asked for to be on the side. The maple syrup was so on the side that it actually never made it to the table
The second pizza was Gorgonzola and pears and I can only assume that they had to grow the pears cause we sat and waited for it. Saw other tables come and go and our pizza was like the maple syrup: not to be seen anywhere.
We asked 4 different people and when it finally came out, I asked: did you go get the ingredients from Spain or what? That particular server was the only that apologized. There was mix up in the kitchen. Which is totally fine but keep the customer in the know.
I asked for the check and then we sat and waited some more. I actually saw our server: Faty serve another table after the hostess asked her to bring us our check. I don’t know if she was having a bad day or what. She came by the table once to introduce herself and then never saw her again.
At the very least, Faty needs to be sent to server school or something because her customer service was zero to non existent.

Cacino's was a pleasant surprise. My friends and I decided to go on a whim and our expectations were exceeded at every level. To begin the food was extremely delicious. We had the marguerite and the rustic pizza and the tasted so incredibly good. I am not big on wine, but my friend how is really liked what she ordered. They also have a selection of beer and soft drinks. Truly there is something for everyone. Totally worth a visit!
