Wonderful Museum that puts to shame so many “modern” museums. The amazing huge crystal collection was a great way to start. Multimedia was integrated c into real meteorite collections. Animated full size raptor was cleverly unexpected. The building is superb. Relaxing and gracious cafe upstairs.

Excellent collection of items in a spectacular building. Superb crystal and mineral collection. Great taxidermy. Museology is still a bit old-style. The old wooden vitrines with old unpolished reflective glass are "vintage" but create a distance which feels strange in a 21st century museum. There are new materials and techniques available to protect the exhibits today which are not so intrusive. The practice of closing rooms at the end of loops and forcing visitors to retrace their steps through a huge area is not ideal. Eco-friendly toilets are great but need not smell so bad...

best natural history museum in the world (personally). The earth science section was incredibly well done in multiple languages to a way that appealed to all demographics. The largest collection of birds I have ever seen as well ! The building it is in is just as beautiful as the things in it, amazing way to see Austrian architecture. Would be recommending to anyone who goes to Austria

Amazing things too see. But visiting in such heat, with no AC was torture. We didn't manage to enjoy the whole museum like we wanted to.
I would want to rate the expected as a 2 star, but the museum is too amazing to give it any less. We will be back on another vacation here when the temperature is better

I have to describe it with one word; Endless!

The museum has awesome content, and I would have loved to have seen everything; however, the temperature was about 30°C inside, and I felt dehydrated.

Why I'm not giving five stars is just because the museum could have set up more fan units 🌬️ so that the visitors could cool down.

Other than the unbearable temperature, the Museum of Natural History is a great museum 🙏 Great Job Vienna! 🥇

Very Impressed! We took our son (2 years old) who is very interested in dinosaurs and we had a wonderful experience! We spent most of the time in the Dino room. He was very excited and he loved it! I highly recommend this place if you have kids who are interested in Dinosaurs.
The other exhibitions are very interesting too. They had a big display of sharks which my son really liked.
It’s a bit difficult to go around the museum in detail with a toddler but if I was there alone I could easily spend 2-3 hours looking at everything in detail.
We arrived 5 mins before opening time on a Sunday morning. It felt like we were the only ones in the room at some times but when we were leaving there were lots of people lining up to buy tickets so you’ll get a better experience if you go early in the morning.
We sat at the museum cafe for coffee and cake. Nice experience. Friendly service and good food and drinks.
We also took the stroller and left it in the stroller parking area near the entrance. But if you need to go around with the stroller there is a lift so it’s possible. The museum is barrier free.

I will definitely buy an annual pass next time because it’s a great place to take my child and spark his curiosity.

Unbelievable natural history museum filled with wonders. It still retains its original layout and cabinets so you really get to see how the original researchers wanted it displayed. The building is magnificent and has artwork that matches and enhances the items on display. This is a great museum for adults and kids alike.
