Very nice staff but a little pricy!
What a diamond of a find! The produce was beautiful, the meat a better price AND quality than any of the big box stores and the variety of ingredients is impressive. I was lucky enough to be there the same time as the owner and he took the time to tell me how important it was that he get the meat, produce and eggs locally and the food reflects that time, energy and care. I am new to cooking Middle Eastern food and the staff was incredibly helpful in giving advice. I will be switching to Damavand for my weekly grocery shopping.
It's a small store, and the staff is always welcoming. You can purchase the delicious bread that usually comes in small squares with your Afghani meals here. The whole loaf, almost a foot across and more than two feet long, is baked fresh here all day long and it's LESS THAN $3 A LOAF! If we're going to get lamb, like we did at Easter, we purchase it here. It's Halal, and the really lovely butcher will cut it into chunks, chops, or whatever you want.
The meat I got was mixed with some really old rotten meat, smalls bad. Bad experience, never be back.
It's one of low key places that are like a gold dust. Iv been going to this place for a long time and I was never disappointed. The meat place is very clean and soft. They know where to get their meat from. You can get a ton of middle eastern food items here. They also have regular groceries. People come from far of places to grab their signature bread 🍞. It's out of the world tasty. They bake it inside fresh and you can smell the aroma inside the shop. Meat guy is my favorite. Service is very fast and its right next to kabaab place if you fancy a bite. Go visit peeps.
Worst experience ever. You can get much better customer service in a remote area of AFG. Friday afternoon I went to the store, and no employee was there. There were two customers inside. Cashier showed up after few minutes, and when I asked a question, he responded in a rude way. He thinks he is running a billion dollars company in a poor country. He has attitude which makes him not suitable for this job.

The butcher who is the elderly man is a cheat, he over charges and weighs the meat with heavy fat then writes an incorrect amount on the charge receipt. If you call him out on it, he'll argue w you. And the meat prices are too high, but that can be almost everywhere. Basically, make sure you keep an eye on the old man so he doesn't cheat you! As for the rest if the shop, I wish they would cover the bulk items as it gets stale and flies get on it.
